Overview

Infor offers WFM as a stand-alone product or alongside Infor HCM. It is built for complex frontline operations, with use cases spanning healthcare, manufacturing, public sector, and retail. Planning can draw on historical results, planned promotions, and weather information, while scheduling accounts for demand, skills, availability, and employee preferences. That combination is valuable when labor needs vary by shift or location; a smaller organization with predictable staffing may find the breadth unnecessary.

Infor was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with company roots in manufacturing-focused ERP software. For a wider category comparison, see Workforce Management Software.

Key features

Forecasting and scheduling

Machine-learning and adaptive forecasting covers time horizons from minutes to years, supporting both immediate coverage decisions and longer-range labor planning. Coverage optimization and intraday management help planners respond to shifting requirements. Rules-based scheduling and shift replacement are practical tools for managing changes, though organizations should assess how their own staffing policies map to the system.

Time, attendance, and payroll

WFM captures time data in real time, calculates complex pay rules, handles time-off requests, and produces audit-ready compliance reports. Payroll close creates an employee pay information export that can move to an organization's payroll system manually or automatically. This supports demanding payroll and compliance workflows, but buyers should establish how the export fits their payroll process.

Healthcare and integrations

Infor Clinical Science can calculate staffing workloads from nurse documentation through Clinical Bridge, which connects with electronic medical records. Infor also documents an HR Talent integration through Infor ION and Business Object Documents, with configurable mappings and transformations. WFM has API configuration and ION API integration documentation, while integration with HR Talent and Infor OS Portal can bring HR and WFM features into Employee Hub. These options suit organizations already working within Infor's ecosystem; the need to configure mappings makes integration planning important.

Infor describes WFM as running on a secure platform and includes WFM and Clinical Science among its HIPAA-attested products. That is relevant for healthcare buyers, but it does not remove the need to assess the organization's own security and compliance requirements.

Pricing

Infor Workforce Management uses custom pricing; contact Infor for sales information. There is no published tier structure to compare, so buyers should request a proposal that spells out the scope and costs for their workforce and deployment. Infor offers WFM alone or with Infor HCM, which gives organizations a choice of broader suite context rather than a different published plan.

Platforms

The product supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, Windows, and API access. Mobile WFM is an HTML5 application, with current and previous Android and iOS versions supported; Chrome is supported on Android, and Safari or Chrome on iOS. The Self Service Portal is designed for portrait phone use and also works on desktop, a useful employee-access option but a constraint for workflows that depend on landscape phone layouts.

Infor lists Edge Chromium, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari as supported browsers; Safari is certified only on macOS, and Windows 10 and 11 are supported for browsers. Buyers should check their device and browser mix against these requirements.

Who it's for

WFM is best suited to large frontline employers that must align staffing to variable demand and manage detailed time, pay, and compliance rules. Healthcare organizations may find Clinical Science and its EMR connection especially relevant, while manufacturing and public-sector employers are also among Infor's target organizations. Retail is another stated use case. Teams with modest scheduling needs or little appetite for enterprise integration should look for a narrower tool.

Pros and cons

Pros

Planning across multiple time horizons: Forecasting from minutes to years, using historical outcomes, promotions, and weather, can support both immediate coverage and longer-range labor decisions.
Operational scheduling controls: Demand, skills, availability, and preferences can inform schedules, with rules-based automation and shift replacement for adjustments.
Detailed time and compliance workflows: Real-time capture, complex pay-rule calculations, time-off requests, and audit-ready reports address requirements that basic scheduling tools may not cover.
Healthcare-specific workload support: Clinical Science can use nurse documentation through Clinical Bridge and electronic medical record integration to calculate staffing workloads.

Cons

Custom pricing: Buyers must contact Infor for a quote, making costs harder to compare before a sales discussion.
Integration planning matters: HR and payroll connections involve configured mappings or export processes, so organizations should account for implementation fit rather than assume every workflow is automatic.
Portrait-oriented mobile portal: The phone portal's portrait design may not suit teams that need landscape mobile workflows.

Alternatives

For a broad comparison, browse Workforce Management Software. Healthcare teams comparing shift-focused options can also review Healthcare Staff Scheduling Software, while organizations centered on time capture can explore Time and Attendance Software. Buyers evaluating adjacent HR needs may compare HR Software, Benefits Administration Software, or HR Case Management Software.

Zoho People is worth considering when a small team wants a freemium HR option: its free plan is free for 5 users, with paid tiers available for teams of at least five. Navia Benefit Solutions is another paid, web and mobile option. Empyrean is a paid benefits administration platform with pricing discussed through a demo. bswift offers paid web and mobile plans, including a customizable implementation path for complex employers and channel partners. Alight Worklife is a paid platform whose pricing is handled through a demo request. Ease may fit organizations seeking benefits enrollment and onboarding for up to 2,000 employees, with three agency users. Employee Navigator is another paid option. PlanSource offers benefits administration with custom pricing based on solutions and services.

Verdict

Choose Infor Workforce Management if a large frontline organization needs forecasting, demand-aware scheduling, detailed time and pay rules, and compliance workflows in one system, particularly if healthcare staffing or the Infor ecosystem is central. Its breadth is the main reason to shortlist it; custom pricing, integration planning, and the portrait-oriented mobile portal are reasons to look elsewhere if the organization needs a simpler or more flexible employee experience.
