In their own words
InspectDesk
InspectDesk is an iPhone and iPad app for home inspectors documenting findings and photos, then producing and sending client PDF reports. It works offline for inspections, report generation and report sharing. Inspectors can build templates from custom sections and items, assign severity levels and tags, and generate reports containing findings, photos, annotations and severity badges. Scheduling tools track appointments, completed inspections, scheduled jobs and revenue metrics. Reports, photos, annotations, client information, property details and templates are stored locally on the device; the maker says this data is not collected or transmitted. Apple analytics frameworks may collect anonymous technical details such as device type, operating-system version and performance metrics, depending on settings. InspectDesk is made by Building Five Technologies Inc. and requires iOS 18.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 18.0 or later on iPad. The Free plan allows one full inspection and one custom template. A one-time $79.99 Lifetime purchase adds unlimited inspections, templates and backup import/export.
ReportHost
ReportHost is software for creating, publishing, and hosting home inspection reports. Reports can be published as HTML pages or PDF files and can include photos, annotations, captions, automatically generated summaries, and PDF attachments. Templates come with prewritten comments and can be changed by adding, editing, or removing comments and sections. RH Mobile is a browser-based web application that lets inspectors record findings offline and upload them after an inspection. ReportHost hosts published reports and customized templates on its servers and says it makes nightly backups. Company accounts support multiple users with different permission levels; inspectors can also work on one property simultaneously and merge findings. New users receive 10 free reports, and students and members of listed inspector associations may receive 15. The Classic plan is $6 as a one-time purchase, billed per published report. Monthly plans range from $50 a month for 10 reports to $400 a month for 300 reports. Included reports expire at the end of the month in which they are purchased. The maker says reports meet or exceed InterNACHI, ASHI, and CAHPI standards of practice.
