InterSystems IRIS

InterSystems IRIS is a cloud-first data platform for building applications that connect separate data and application environments. Its database engine combines SQL and NoSQL management with transaction processing and concurrent analytics. The platform supports semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation, generative AI, machine learning, business rules, business intelligence and natural language processing. Integration features include API management, workflow, low-code business-process orchestration and adapters for technologies such as SQL, SOAP, REST, HTTP, FTP, SAP, TCP, LDAP and email. Built-in APIs support Java, .NET, JavaScript and Python; JSON and XML are among its data formats. Deployment can use public or private clouds, on-premises systems, hybrid environments, bare metal or virtual machines. Security options include authentication, role- and data-level authorization, encryption and auditing. High-availability and disaster-recovery choices include clustering and database mirroring. Community Edition is free for evaluation and testing, but its built-in license expires one year after the product version’s release. Paid pricing is available on request, and AWS infrastructure charges may apply to Community Edition.
