In their own words
Intervator
Intervator is a browser-based mock interview platform for people preparing for job interviews. Users can answer an AI interviewer by voice or text, choosing a live video avatar or a static portrait with voice. Practice can be tailored to a role or to a supplied job description. After a session, users can review transcripts and structured analysis with scores and written notes on communication, technical depth, problem solving, and behavioral signal. Optional screen recordings can also be reviewed in the dashboard. A Chrome/Edge extension captures job-listing details and sends them to Intervator only when the user starts an interview. The service is aimed at candidates preparing for real interviews, and also presents offerings for students, colleges, career centers, and workforce programs. Its platforms are web and browser extension. The free plan includes 50 interview credits and one free share. Starter costs $9.99, paid once, Pro costs $19.99 a month, Standard costs $29.99, paid once, and Max costs $49.99, paid once. Credit use varies by session type and can include charges for avatar lines, long AI speech, and idle time.
Lixir
Lixir is a web-based, voice-driven AI interviewer for software engineers practicing coding interviews in a live editor. It follows code as it is written, asks follow-up questions, and can nudge users who are stuck. Practice modes include silent proctor, guided, and pair partner. Code can run in JavaScript and TypeScript, while problems can be discussed in Python, Java, or Go. Users can provide a job description, practice from a resume, and use role-specific coaching. Post-session reports assess coding, problem solving, communication, and collaboration, with session evidence and next steps; feedback also covers overall assessment, competency breakdowns, strengths, and improvement areas. The Free plan costs nothing and includes one practice interview, three coding challenges, real-time coaching, reports after each session, and permanent report and profile retention. Pro costs $20 a month with unlimited interviews and challenges, scored reports, and resume-based personalization.
