Overview

VCPeer combines investor profiles and firm comparisons with anonymous founder accounts of investor interactions, including reports of ghosting and term-sheet comparisons. Search filters cover stage, sector, and geography, and the product includes investment activity and portfolio-company data. VCPeer says reviews come from verified submissions and public profile facts are supported by sourceable public evidence, a useful distinction for readers weighing firsthand accounts against profile information.

Rally handles prospect discovery, personalized email writing, replies, and meeting booking for customers, partners, resellers, or investors. It can send through Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or SMTP; replies appear in the user's inbox and Rally inbox. Interested replies receive the user's Cal.com link. In Raise mode, each wave contacts one partner per fund, and any reply from someone at that fund closes outreach there. That avoids continuing parallel contact within a fund, but may end a campaign before the chosen partner replies.

Key features

Research and outreach

Comparisons and targeted filters make VCPeer more useful than a simple contact list for narrowing an investor search. Rally then extends the workflow into outreach and scheduling. The fund-level rule is a material trade-off: it favors controlled, one-contact-at-a-time fundraising outreach over campaigns that need to pursue multiple partners at the same firm.

API and security

Rally offers a REST API and hosted MCP server. Tokens expire, can be limited to one project, and use individually selected permissions, which gives teams a way to constrain access. A typed SDK and CLI are described as forthcoming. VCPeer says it uses encryption in transit and at rest, regular security audits and penetration testing, access controls, and internal audit logging. It also says it does not sell personal information or use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Pricing

The free plan is free. It includes public search, 30 signed-in Ask answers per day, advanced filters and comparisons, one watchlist, and three saved searches, but no exports. It is a practical way to explore the research workflow; the export cap makes it less suitable for users who need to take results into another tool.

Research Report costs 99.00 USD per once, billed $99 one-time. It packages an investor shortlist, market map, recent funding rounds, similar companies, risks, and next steps. This is the focused option for a one-off assessment rather than an ongoing research subscription.

Pro costs 299.00 USD per year, billed $299 annually. It adds unlimited Ask research, 10 watchlists, 25 saved searches and alerts, CSV exports up to 1,000 rows, and PDF and Markdown exports. This is the clearest fit for founders running an active raise or people returning regularly to private-market research; the finite saved-search and export limits still matter for larger workflows.

Team costs 999.00 USD per year, billed $999 annually. It includes everything in Pro plus a shared workspace, larger exports, team notes, priority data requests, and onboarding support. Those additions suit collaborative work; the plan does not state a seat count, so teams should confirm how access is arranged before choosing it. VCPeer also provides email support.

Platforms

VCPeer is available on the web and through an API. Rally's hosted MCP server and REST API add integration options, while its typed SDK and CLI are forthcoming rather than current tools.

Who it's for

Founders comparing investors and organizing a raise are the strongest fit, particularly when research and outreach belong in one process. Investors and startup operators may also use the private-market intelligence tools. Readers who need broad exports on a free plan, or who want Rally to continue contacting a fund after any partner replies, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Investor profiles, firm comparisons, and stage, sector, and geography filters support a more deliberate search than an undifferentiated prospect list.
Pro: Founder reviews add accounts of ghosting and term sheets alongside profile and portfolio information.
Pro: Rally connects prospecting, personalized email, inbox replies, and Cal.com scheduling.
Con: The free plan has no exports, limiting the portability of research before upgrading.
Con: In Raise mode, one reply from a fund closes outreach to that entire fund, even if the selected partner has not replied.

Alternatives

For a broader starting point, browse Investor Databases. Choose Family Office Databases instead when a paid family-office database is the priority: its Accredited Investor Database is $495.00 USD per month, billed $495/First Month then $79/Month, with a free trial and mobile and web platforms. Choose Preqin for a paid, subscription-dependent research product with Android, iOS, web, and API platforms and a free trial; its Preqin Pro pricing depends on subscription modules.

PropertyRadar is an alternative when property-oriented prospecting is the need; its Solo plan is $119.00 USD per month, with annual prepayment shown at $99/month, and a free trial. For deal and market coverage, Venture Intelligence offers a free weekly roundup and API and web access. CompStak is another freemium API and web option, with free exchange access tied to contributing comps. GPCA Data Room + LP Intelligence offers complimentary unlimited access and logins for member firms, making it relevant to GPCA members.

VCPro Database is a one-time-purchase alternative for desktop users: its 2026 edition costs $119.95 USD per once and includes Windows and macOS versions. AcquityData instead offers a seven-day full-access trial on the web, with Excel exports limited to a set number of records per export.

Verdict

VCPeer is a strong choice for founders who want to move from investor research into personalized outreach without separating the tools. Choose Pro for recurring research and exports, or Team when shared workspaces and larger exports justify its annual price. Look elsewhere if free export access or continued outreach across several partners at one fund is central to your process.
