In their own words
iSCRIM
iSCRIM is a web platform for creating and managing online tournaments across games. Hosts can configure events, manage participants, and record results, with formats including single and double elimination, 1v1 duel, battle royale, free for all, Swiss system, and round robin. The homepage lists a catalogue of more than 185 games and disciplines. Quick Play lets users create 1v1, single-elimination, or double-elimination tournaments without an account, but erases that data after 72 hours and does not retain player stats. The free plan includes registration, brackets, scores, announcements, and a host profile, with no tournament limit. Premium Player is $2 a month and Premium Host is $5 a month; subscriptions may recur monthly or annually based on selection and can be cancelled in account settings. Hosts, rather than iSCRIM, handle event rules, participant eligibility, prizes, and compliance with relevant laws and game rules. Users disputing a score can submit a screenshot for host review before the bracket advances.
Skillz
Skillz is a multiplayer tournament platform for mobile games where players compete for cash or virtual in-game currencies. Its formats include head-to-head matches, tournaments, brackets, and leaderboards. Skillz says its system matches players of similar skill levels to support fair opportunities. Players can join for free, enter free tournaments, or join cash tournaments starting at $0.60. Cash competitions are restricted to people aged 18 or older in regions where cash play is enabled. Skillz also serves independent game developers seeking to add social competition to their games. The developer SDK supports Unity, native iOS, and Android integrations, including direct Apple and Google API integrations; Unity SDK APIs can also support browser games hosted on Skillz. SIDEkick lets developers test supported integration workflows in the Unity editor without connecting to Skillz servers. Current requirements list Unity 2021.3 or 2022.3 LTS, iOS 14 or later, and Android API level 24 or later. Some features are unavailable on web, including brackets, real-time tournaments, chat, progressive leagues, and some payment methods.
