Overview

Itinica is a collaborative travel planner for people who want to turn a trip idea into an organized set of places and plans. It is strongest for groups comparing options together; it is less suited to travelers who want bookings or existing itineraries brought into one app.

Key features

Describe a trip in plain English and AI generates an itinerary with hotels, restaurants and activities. An AI chat assistant can suggest restaurants, activities or attractions around group preferences. These tools help a group get from a broad idea to options worth discussing, but the Free plan allows only one AI trip generation and five chat messages each month.

Itinica arranges plans into day-by-day schedules with routes and timing, and interactive maps show destinations, distances and daily routes. Pro adds automatic route optimization and smart scheduling suggestions, which matter most when travelers want help refining logistics, not just collecting ideas.

Unlimited collaborators can add suggestions, comment, vote and stay synchronized in real time. Custom decks and collections organize options such as hotels, restaurants and activities. Guests can view a shared trip through a link without an account, while access controls let the trip owner manage viewing, editing or browsing. Itinica says trips are private by default and that it does not sell user data or share it with third parties.

Paste links from booking sites, Google Maps or travel websites to fetch images and details from most URLs. This makes it easier to bring outside options into a shared plan, but Itinica does not automatically import plans from other platforms. It also stops short of reservations: travelers still book through booking sites.

Pricing

The Free Plan is free and includes unlimited trips, decks, cards and collaborators, plus PDF export. Its one AI trip generation and five AI chat messages per month are the key trade-off: it can work well for organizing plans and sharing choices, but regular AI-assisted planning will quickly favor a paid tier.

The Pro Plan costs 14.99 USD per month. It includes everything in Free, removes the AI generation and chat limits, and adds automatic route optimization, smart scheduling suggestions, priority support, advanced analytics and early access to new features. It is the better fit for frequent planners who want ongoing AI help and more logistical guidance; occasional travelers may find the free allowances enough.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes a dedicated account manager, custom integrations and API access, SSO and advanced security, priority support and an SLA, and white-label options. Those provisions are aimed at organizations needing managed support or integration and security options beyond individual trip planning.

Platforms

Itinica is available on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. Despite that platform coverage, it has no mobile app, so travelers should not choose it expecting a dedicated app for their phone.

Who it's for

Itinica suits solo travelers, couples, families, friends and teams who want a shared place to shape trip plans, compare places and coordinate schedules. It is a particularly good fit when collaboration and map-based organization matter more than booking in one place. Travelers who need automatic migration of an existing plan or want to reserve directly in their planner should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited collaborators, voting and real-time synchronization make it practical for groups with many contributors.
Pro: Maps, day-by-day schedules and link-based sharing connect planning details with group discussion, including for guests without accounts.
Pro: The free tier keeps trips, decks, cards and collaborators unlimited, with PDF export included.
Con: Free AI use is capped at one trip generation and five chat messages per month, limiting repeated iteration.
Con: It does not automatically import existing trip plans, and reservations still happen on booking sites.
Con: It has no mobile app, despite support for Android and iOS platforms.

Verdict

Choose Itinica if your trip depends on a group agreeing on places and schedules: unlimited collaborators, shared maps and organized options make that its clearest strength. Look elsewhere if you need reservations or automatic imports, or if the lack of a mobile app is a deal-breaker.
