In their own words
Jitsi Meet
Jitsi Meet is an open-source video conferencing solution for online meetings. Participants can share desktops and presentations, use screen sharing, exchange messages and emojis in chat, and collaborate on Etherpad documents. Meetings support recording and breakout rooms, with HD audio using Opus. Audio and video traffic is encrypted in transit with DTLS-SRTP. Optional end-to-end encryption extends to audio, video, and screen sharing, but not chat or polls. Jitsi Meet is available on the web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, as well as through an API or self-hosted deployment. Its External API can embed meetings in webpages, and an SDK can embed them in Android and iOS apps. Integrations include YouTube Live, Dropbox, callstats.io, and SIP telephony. On meet.jit.si, chat and speaker statistics are removed at the end of a meeting, but every participant is a moderator. The free service is limited to 25 monthly active endpoints across a user's accounts; meet.jit.si is intended for API integration testing, not production applications.
TrueConf
TrueConf Server combines video meetings, messaging, webinars, and remote collaboration in a self-hosted platform. Organizations can run it on premises inside a corporate network, including without an internet connection. Eligible licenses support conferences with up to 2,000 participants; the perpetual Free edition allows up to 10 participants, 1,000 messaging users, one guest connection, and one SIP/H.323 connection. Collaboration tools include chats, file and content sharing, recording, polls, reactions, and conference scheduling. Listed integrations include Active Directory and LDAP, SSO, SIP/H.323 systems, corporate calendars, APIs, and SDKs. The service can connect to SIP PBXs so users can call PBX subscribers from its client applications. Described AI features include noise reduction, background blurring or replacement, and meeting transcription and summaries. TrueConf lists MFA and trusted zones, as well as DLP integration for Enterprise. The free plan is perpetual; the paid TrueConf Server plan is $10 per user per year. Basic, extended, and full support packages vary in response times and coverage; basic support excludes assistance with AD/LDAP integration, the API, and port configuration. Client platforms include web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
