Overview

Jobscan is a resume-matching and job-application platform for people tailoring materials to specific openings. It is strongest for active applicants who want matching, LinkedIn advice, and application tracking in one workflow. Its breadth is balanced by a free plan that restricts scanning and paid options whose billing terms deserve a close look.

Key features

Jobscan compares a resume with a job listing, detects the applicant tracking system, then returns a match rate and optimization recommendations. That makes it more useful for adapting a resume to a particular role than for someone who only needs a document builder. The ATS-friendly builder, scanner, resume generators, and AI-powered One-Click Optimize editor extend that workflow; five templates and PDF or DOCX downloads cover common document needs. Free users get the builder and downloads, but limited scans can constrain repeated tailoring.

Users can find personalized listings, tailor resumes, apply, and track applications within Jobscan. The Chrome Job Tracker extension saves listings from Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor, a practical addition for applicants gathering opportunities across those sites. Auto Apply still requires review of each application before sending, preserving a final approval step.

Premium users can scan LinkedIn profiles against multiple job descriptions and get advice for headline, summary, experience, and education sections. Premium also includes unlimited cover-letter scans and an AI generator that draws on the job description and resume text. These features suit applicants refining an entire application package; they are less relevant to someone seeking only a basic resume export.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and includes the resume builder, ATS-friendly templates, downloads, and limited resume scans. It is a sensible way to build a resume and try occasional matching, but the scan cap makes it a poor fit for a sustained search.

Premium is shown at 49.95 USD per month, billed monthly, with resume optimization, AI Optimize, match-rate insights, LinkedIn optimization, and ATS tips. Premium Monthly is also 49.95 USD per month, billed $49.95/month, and includes a Match Report, AI Optimize, builder, cover letters, LinkedIn tools, Job Tracker, and Auto Apply. The listed Premium Quarterly plan is 89.95 USD per month, billed every three months, and includes Premium tools, resume optimization, AI Optimize, and match-rate insights. Compare the billing terms and included tools before choosing: the quarterly billing interval differs, and the feature summaries are not identical.

Coach Monthly costs 99.00 USD per month, billed $99/month; Coach Annual costs 999.00 USD per year, billed $999/year. Both start with two client slots, with additional slots available, making them the relevant options for coaches rather than individual applicants. Jobscan offers a 7-day trial, so check its terms and renewal before committing to a paid option.

Platforms

Jobscan runs on the web and as an extension. Its Chrome Job Tracker extension is particularly useful for saving listings from Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor without leaving those job sites.

Who it's for

Jobscan suits job seekers applying to multiple roles who want to compare resumes with listings, refine LinkedIn profiles, generate cover letters, and keep applications organized. Its organization offering also targets higher-education institutions, career coaches, government agencies, nonprofits, and employment organizations. A one-off resume writer or applicant who needs unrestricted free scanning should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Resume matching combines ATS detection, match rates, and recommendations, giving role-specific feedback rather than just a template.
Pros: The workflow reaches beyond resumes to LinkedIn scans, unlimited Premium cover-letter scans, job tracking, and reviewed-before-sending Auto Apply.
Cons: Free scans are limited, so regular use of the product's central matching feature likely calls for a paid plan.
Cons: The monthly and quarterly Premium entries have different billing intervals and feature summaries, so buyers should compare the terms carefully.

Verdict

Choose Jobscan if you are actively applying and want resume-to-listing matching tied to LinkedIn advice, cover-letter help, and application tracking. Its main advantage is bringing those steps together; its main drawback is that limited free scans and paid-plan billing distinctions make it less suitable for occasional or strictly free use.
