Overview

Langua offers conversation practice around the clock, with roleplays, debates, vocabulary exercises, and discussions tailored to a learner’s interests. That variety makes it useful for learners who want to practice producing language in different contexts and at times that fit their schedules. Multiple dialects are available for many languages, which may help learners choose a variety relevant to their goals.

The product’s strongest idea is connecting conversation to review: learners can return to feedback and saved words instead of treating each exchange as a one-off. It is less suited to someone looking for a structured course built around a fixed sequence of lessons.

Key features

Conversation and feedback

Correction styles and personalized grammar drills can direct attention to errors, while feedback reports, audio summaries, and transcripts with click-to-translate words give learners several ways to revisit a conversation. That is a useful set of review tools for independent learners, though it does not replace a human tutor’s judgment.

Vocabulary and content

Learners can save vocabulary, practice it with spaced-repetition flashcards, and generate stories featuring saved words. Langua also provides level-matched podcasts and videos, and lets learners import their own material with interactive transcripts synchronized to audio. The combination suits learners who want to build practice around words and content they care about; those who only need occasional speaking drills may not need this wider toolkit.

Privacy and age

Chat transcripts are stored securely in the account and can be deleted by the user. Voice recordings are not stored unless recording is enabled in Settings. Contracted providers may process conversation content to provide, evaluate, or improve Langua, but are restricted from selling it, using it for advertising, or training shared models for other customers. The service is intended for users aged 13 and above; users aged 13–17 need parental or guardian permission. Langua says it moderates AI content but cannot guarantee that all content will be appropriate.

Pricing

Langua is freemium. The Free plan is free and allows 3 minutes of Call Mode per day and approximately 20 standard chat messages per week. That is enough to try the product, but the caps make it a poor fit for regular conversation practice.

The Standard plan has custom pricing and is billed monthly. It allows up to 75 regular chat messages and 30 minutes of Call Mode per day, a more practical allowance for routine practice without unlimited access. Unlimited is also custom pricing, marketed as unlimited conversation practice, but its fair-use terms cap AI chat messages at 350 per day.

The Pro trial requires a card and lasts 5 days on a monthly plan or 7 days on an annual plan. The trial length and card requirement matter for anyone who wants to evaluate the paid experience without risking an unwanted renewal. Customized organization plans start at 500.00 USD per month for schools, universities, and companies; this is aimed at organizations rather than individual learners.

Platforms

Langua runs on web, iOS, and Android, and subscriptions and progress sync across devices. For web use, Langua recommends Google Chrome because it handles voice technology most reliably. Mobile apps make it practical to continue practice across devices, while Chrome is the safer choice for browser-based voice sessions.

Who it's for

Langua is a good fit for independent learners who want flexible speaking practice, specific feedback, and a way to review vocabulary or work through their own listening material. It is less compelling for learners who need a generous free plan, a fixed lesson sequence, or a service without a payment card for the trial. Minors aged 13–17 need parental or guardian permission.

Pros and cons

Pro: Roleplays, debates, and interest-based conversations offer varied speaking practice rather than a single conversation format.
Pro: Feedback, transcripts, saved vocabulary, and spaced-repetition flashcards create several paths to review after practice.
Pro: Imported content with transcripts synchronized to audio supports study using material the learner chooses.
Con: The Free plan’s 3 daily Call Mode minutes and approximately 20 weekly standard chat messages are restrictive for regular use.
Con: A card is required to start the 5- or 7-day Pro trial, which makes a no-commitment evaluation less straightforward.
Con: Unlimited is subject to a 350-message daily fair-use allowance, so it is not literally unlimited in chat volume.

Alternatives

For another AI language practice option, Talkpal has a free Basic plan with a 10-minute daily limit; consider it if that allowance and its available AI modes better fit your routine. LINAOI offers five free lessons per day and basic pronunciation practice, making it an alternative for learners who prefer lessons and pronunciation work. For other options, browse AI Language Learning Apps, Language learning apps, or AI Tutoring Apps.

Verdict

Choose Langua if you want flexible AI conversation practice tied to useful feedback, vocabulary review, and imported listening material. Its main advantage is the connected practice-and-review toolkit; its main drawback is that free use is tightly capped and the Pro trial requires a card. Learners seeking a fixed course or a more generous free allowance should look elsewhere.
