In their own words
JSTorrent
JSTorrent is a free, open-source BitTorrent client for downloading torrent files. It runs as a standalone app on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android, or through an optional Chrome extension. Add a torrent by opening a .torrent file, clicking or pasting a magnet link, or pasting a torrent URL. The extension can handle magnet links and add torrents from the browser context menu. On ChromeOS, it can pair with an Android companion app for file handling and networking; Chromebooks without Play Store access can use it with a background daemon in Linux (Crostini).
JSTorrent supports selective downloads, DHT, and in-app video streaming, including keyframe-aware seeking for MKV files. It can also download concurrently from HTTP web seeds, with keep-alive, rate limiting, and redirect handling. Private-tracker .torrent files can be loaded, though some trackers may need to whitelist the client. The maker says releases are built by GitHub Actions CI, signed for supported platforms, and desktop auto-updates are signature-verified. Downloads may be slow or unavailable when a torrent has few seeders or peers.
