In their own words

Kargo

Kargo is an open-source continuous promotion orchestration layer for moving applications through deployment stages in Kubernetes environments. It complements Argo CD, with customizable pipelines for advancing changes from one environment to another and a view of changes across environments. Kargo tracks updates from Git artifacts, container images, Helm charts, and other artifacts. Verification checks can run at stages before an artifact advances downstream. Documented promotion steps include Git operations, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, and HTTP requests to external services. Kargo Enterprise additionally lists Jira, ServiceNow, JFrog Evidence, GitHub Actions, and Slack or email notifications, and can automatically return a stage to its last stable artifact when verification fails. The open-source distribution uses the Apache 2.0 license. A basic installation requires a Kubernetes cluster, and the documentation says Kargo works best paired with Argo CD. Its default configuration is suitable only for trying it in a local cluster that is not internet-facing. The open-source distribution has no time- or severity-bound backport guarantee for security fixes. Akuity Pro, including one Kargo instance, is listed at $495 a month; Enterprise pricing is available by contacting sales.

Plural

Plural is an AI tool for infrastructure work, presented for platform and DevOps teams. It can upgrade clusters, resolve incidents, patch vulnerabilities, optimize costs, and execute changes across code, clusters, and cloud. Its project-scoped Workbenches package an AI agent’s prompt, capabilities, tools, and automation triggers for infrastructure operations. Plural says agents can draw on a live semantic graph covering clusters, stacks, services, and changes across an estate. Integrations include Prometheus, Datadog, Loki, Elastic, Tempo, Jaeger, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Linear. Cloud tools provide SQL-queryable access to AWS, GCP, and Azure data, including billing and infrastructure services. Changes are submitted as pull requests in existing repositories for human review. Plural says actions are logged, permissions are bounded, tool calls and decisions can be inspected, and changes can be reviewed before confirmation. Sandbox is free for a 14-day platform trial. Pro starts at $450/mo for one cluster, with each additional cluster at $250/mo, and includes a 30-day free trial. Pro uses shared Plural infrastructure; Enterprise offers shared, dedicated, or on-prem hosting.
