Kindroid is an AI companion app for creating characters called Kins. Users can choose each Kin’s name, personality, backstory, appearance and voice, then communicate through text or voice messages, voice and video calls, selfies, video selfies and group chats. Kindroid provides persistent, long-term and retrievable memory systems; subscribers also receive Cascaded Memory. Subscribers can ask their Kin to search the internet and use link sharing. An authenticated API includes a Discord bot endpoint. The app is available on Android, iOS and web. Its free plan provides Lite-model messages, two Kindroids, limited selfies, 5,000 lifetime audio characters and basic long-term memory. Group chats, which can include up to 10 Kindroids, are for paid subscribers. Standard costs $37.99 a month on web or $42.99 a month in the app, billed every three months. Application data is encrypted in transit and at rest, but chats are not end-to-end encrypted because the service processes them to generate replies and automated safety systems review content. Kindroid is for adults aged 18 or the age of majority in their jurisdiction.
