In their own words
Kestrel
Kestrel uses AI agents to automate incident response, cloud provisioning, CI/CD, security, and developer requests for platform engineering. Teams can build workflows with natural language, a visual editor, the CLI, Python SDK, or MCP. After configuration, workflows execute their defined code without a model in the runtime loop. Kestrel offers more than 40 integrations, plus custom HTTP APIs and webhook triggers. It detects Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and application incidents, including CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, failed rollouts, IAM changes, and cost anomalies. Deployment options include cloud and self-hosted software, including air-gapped environments on AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI. Security controls include SAML/OIDC SSO, MFA, workflow-level RBAC, approval gates, and immutable audit logs. Kestrel says tenant data is isolated, customer data is not used to train AI models, and integrations are read-only by default. Its 14-day trial needs no credit card and includes up to 100 workflow executions per day, one Incident Response unit, and up to 10 Cloud AI Copilot chats per day. An always-free plan is listed; Cloud AI Copilot is $100 a month and Incident Response is $200 a month.
TalkOps
TalkOps is an open-source multi-agent framework for planning, generating, validating, and troubleshooting infrastructure code, Kubernetes manifests, and observability pipelines. It also supports Kubernetes operations and Terraform module generation for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Listed observability capabilities include Prometheus, Alertmanager, OpenTelemetry, Loki, and Tempo. The framework supports more than 20 language-model providers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Ollama, vLLM, and LocalAI. Its stated safety controls include role-based permissions, approval gates, resource and query limits, bash scanners, and structured trace logs. In its Git workflow, agents commit changes and open pull requests that provide an approval point, audit trail, and rollback mechanism. A Kubernetes agent can work in Slack threads and present approval cards for state-changing actions, with Slack user IDs mapped to TalkOps permissions. TalkOps, its agents, and MCP servers use the Apache 2.0 License. It can be inspected, modified, and self-hosted for commercial or non-commercial use. There are no license or seat fees; providers separately bill model API tokens and cloud infrastructure.
