In their own words

KeyBlaze

KeyBlaze is a typing tutor for touch typing, speed typing and 10-key numeric keypad practice. Its lessons cover home and neighboring keys, capitalization, punctuation and numbers, with drills, prose, poetry and exercises focused on difficult keys. Audio dictation provides transcription practice, while typing games offer another kind of exercise. KeyBlaze measures net and gross words per minute, supports tests at different durations and lets learners set speed goals. Users can import their own lessons, drills and speed tests or focus practice on troublesome words and characters. Keyboard highlighting indicates finger placement, and the software can print course completion certificates. KeyBlaze runs on macOS and Windows and is described by its maker as suitable for all skill levels. For classroom review, results can be saved to a network folder; that folder must be configured separately on each computer. The free version costs nothing, while additional lessons, professional exercises and custom features require an upgrade. The Plus Home license is restricted to non-business use.

TIPP10

TIPP10 is a free ten-finger typing tutor for browser and desktop use. Its 20 sequential practice lessons introduce keyboard characters over time and repeat letters a learner mistypes more often. Progress tools include printable lesson reports, speed and error statistics, lesson history, and a trend diagram. Learners can create lessons, use open material on subjects such as programming or legal texts, or load their own texts for dictation. English and German interfaces and lessons are listed, along with QWERTY, German, Swiss, Neo, Dvorak, and RISTOME keyboard layouts. The maker describes the tutor as suitable for beginners and children. The downloadable desktop version is no longer maintained, and the maker recommends the online version. Its listed macOS download supports versions 10.3 through 10.14 and does not work from macOS 10.15 Catalina onward. The downloadable software is under the GNU General Public License. The maker says it has no advertising or tracking; the online privacy policy describes cookies and anonymized usage data. Support options include documentation, FAQs, bug reports, suggestions, and a contact form.
