In their own words
KeyBlaze
KeyBlaze is a typing tutor for touch typing, speed typing and 10-key numeric keypad practice. Its lessons cover home and neighboring keys, capitalization, punctuation and numbers, with drills, prose, poetry and exercises focused on difficult keys. Audio dictation provides transcription practice, while typing games offer another kind of exercise. KeyBlaze measures net and gross words per minute, supports tests at different durations and lets learners set speed goals. Users can import their own lessons, drills and speed tests or focus practice on troublesome words and characters. Keyboard highlighting indicates finger placement, and the software can print course completion certificates. KeyBlaze runs on macOS and Windows and is described by its maker as suitable for all skill levels. For classroom review, results can be saved to a network folder; that folder must be configured separately on each computer. The free version costs nothing, while additional lessons, professional exercises and custom features require an upgrade. The Plus Home license is restricted to non-business use.
Typing Agent
Typing Agent is a web-based typing and digital-skills platform for K-12 schools and districts. Its curriculum includes keyboarding foundations for K-2 and older students, Spanish lessons, coding, digital citizenship, social-emotional learning, targeted practice, Type Your Own Adventure and Notepad. Lessons adjust to student speed, accuracy and problem keys. Teachers can assign curriculum by grade, class or student, manage access and progress in educator dashboards, and review reports covering speed, accuracy, progress, problem keys and participation. GritCoins, XP, levels, Ice Chests, leaderboards and arcade games provide practice incentives. Accessibility supports include read-aloud audio, high contrast, one-handed typing, Spanish instructions and colorblind-safe cues. Rostering and sign-on options include Clever, ClassLink, Google Classroom, Microsoft and SFTP Upload. New sign-ups receive a 3-day demo and can request a 30-day free trial from the demo dashboard. The school and district license is priced per student with volume tiers; unused licenses cannot carry over. Clever rostering is limited to district-based accounts, and each Clever-rostered school must have at least 100 students.
