| Spec score · Kiosk Management Software | 8.9 (#3) | 7.7 (#17) |
| Data retention | The security page states 30-day retention for device events, sessions and locations, 10-day backups and 10-day logs. | Administrators can configure history anonymization and retention, and automatic deletion of inactive users; leaving the retention settings empty keeps data indefinitely. |
| Purpose | Kiosk Browser locks an Android device to a website or web app in full screen, while Kiosk Launcher locks it to selected Android apps. | Libki manages time-limited computer access, reservations, and sessions on a network, for settings such as libraries and school computer labs. |
| Security | The maker says Remote Management is hosted primarily in Azure North Europe, secured by Auth0, and uses TLS for data in transit and transparent encryption for its SQL database and backups. | The server does not have native SSL support; the manual recommends using a reverse proxy that supports SSL termination. |
| Support | The maker offers live chat, email, and a help centre, and says the products are designed, developed, and supported from the UK. | The maker directs users to mailing lists, documentation, and GitHub issue trackers; it also says support or development services may be purchased, without listing prices. |

In their own words
Kiosk Browser
Kiosk Browser turns an Android device into a full-screen station for a website or web app, while Kiosk Launcher restricts a device to selected Android applications. Listed uses include check-in and booking, surveys, digital signage, and web ordering. Kiosk Browser offers a JavaScript interface for web-app integration and accepts barcode and NFC input, including specified Zebra TC and M3 Mobile scanners. Both apps support bulk JSON configuration and provisioning by QR code, NFC, or ADB. A web console manages shared configurations, app installation and updates, remote actions and wipes, email alerts, location history, and requested screenshots for Kiosk Browser. Kiosk Remote Management adds a REST API for fleet control. Provisioning needs a new or factory-reset device. Android 7 is required for QR setup, Android 9 is recommended, and Android 4 is unsupported. The single-device licence costs $10.60 USD once; Remote Management costs $1.60 per device monthly at the base rate, excluding VAT.
Libki
Libki manages time-limited access, reservations, and sessions on networked computers, with a focus on public-access settings such as libraries and school computer labs. Administrators use a web interface to manage users and session time, message or ban users, and see which client computers are available or occupied. Users can take computers on a first-come-first-served basis, reserve them, or use both approaches. The client shows remaining session time and allows early logoff; it can also be set to log off the operating system or reboot when a session ends. Libki supports SIP2 and LDAP single sign-on. SIP2 settings can restrict access using patron status, fees, age groups, or other configured fields, and the manual covers Koha and Evergreen hold notifications. Print management is available for controlled clients or files uploaded to the server. The server is self-hosted; Debian Linux, Ubuntu Server, or Docker are recommended, and Docker requires a separate database server. Clients run on Windows and Linux, though the maker provides a Windows installer and other operating systems require compiling from source. The system is free to download, install, and use. Administrators can configure data retention and deletion, but empty retention settings keep data indefinitely.
