In their own words
Klarna
Klarna gives shoppers payment choices at checkout and gives merchants a way to offer those choices online, in apps, and in person. Customers can pay now, pay later, or split a purchase into installments; US options include Pay in 4, Pay in 30 days, paying in full, and monthly financing over 6–24 months. Pay in 4 divides a purchase into four interest-free payments collected every two weeks, with no fees when paid on time. Shoppers can also use the app to manage payments, track deliveries, compare prices, keep loyalty cards, shop in stores, and earn cashback at participating retailers. The app is free to download and use on iOS and Android. Merchants can connect through APIs or plugins for platforms including Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce, and WooCommerce, and can access tools such as express checkout and on-site messaging. Klarna Payments supports subscriptions and unscheduled charges as well as one-time payments. The service is paid, with pricing on request; Klarna Card membership plans are listed at $4.99 a month, $9.99 a month, $19.99 a month, and $44.99 a month. Klarna was founded in 2005.
