Overview

Kryptos combines a live portfolio dashboard with transaction classification and tax reports for more than 35 countries. The dashboard covers crypto, DeFi, and NFT activity, while tax transactions can be added manually, by API, or by CSV. Reports export as PDF, CSV, or K4, so users have several formats for filing and recordkeeping.

The breadth is a practical advantage for portfolios spread across services: Kryptos advertises 5,500+ integrations spanning exchanges, wallets, blockchains, and DeFi protocols. It also supports wallet and exchange imports, tax-lot tracking, and accounting exports. The main buying constraint is volume: tax plans are organized around transaction limits, so a low headline price is useful only if the annual cap fits.

Key features

Portfolio and tax workflow

Account aggregation and tax reporting sit in one product, which suits users who want to monitor holdings while preparing records for tax work. The variety of import and export paths accommodates both direct connections and manual or file-based workflows. Coverage across 35+ countries broadens its relevance, but the specific usefulness still depends on the user's tax needs and supported sources.

Developer and business tools

Kryptos Connect offers a unified API with TypeScript and Python SDKs, normalized data, and real-time webhooks. Its developer free tier includes 10,000 requests per month and a stated limit of 60 requests per minute, a defined starting allowance for building against the API. Business features extend to treasury tracking, chart-of-accounts mapping, invoicing, payroll, and audit-ready GAAP and IFRS reporting, making the product relevant beyond individual tax filing.

Mobile and security

Native iOS and Android apps support portfolio syncing, push alerts, biometric authentication, and tax report downloads. The mobile app page says API keys are read-only, without withdrawal scopes, and data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Kryptos says it is ISO 27001 certified and that SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports are available. Those controls are relevant for users connecting financial accounts, though they do not remove the need to assess a provider's security practices for one's own requirements.

Pricing

The free tax plan costs 0.00 USD per free, billed per tax year, and covers up to 100 transactions per tax year. The pricing page says the current and future years are free at that limit, making it a sensible starting point for low-volume activity. Users above the cap need a paid tier; the transaction ceilings, rather than just the annual price, should guide the choice.

Hobbyist: 39.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 300 transactions. It is the lowest-cost paid annual option for modest activity.
Lite: 89.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 1,000 transactions. It gives more headroom than Hobbyist without moving to a higher annual tier.
Standard: 139.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 3,000 transactions.
Advanced: 259.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 10,000 transactions.
Elite: 459.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 30,000 transactions.
Max: 689.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 50,000 transactions.
Ultra: 989.00 USD per year, billed per tax year, for up to 100,000 transactions. It is the largest stated tax allowance.

Starter is 45.00 USD per month, with quarterly or annual options shown and an annual saving of 20%; it supports up to 1,000 transactions and includes 5,500+ integrations. Its monthly price and billing choices make it a different commitment from the per-tax-year tiers, so compare the term as well as the cap.

Pro Membership is an optional add-on billed at $3 for your first month, then $6.99/month. It adds DeFi and NFT support, tax insights, daily sync, priority support, and API and MCP access. It is not a replacement for selecting a tax plan with an adequate transaction allowance. A 14-day trial is offered. A customer who has not generated a tax report may request a refund within seven days of purchase.

Platforms

Kryptos runs on web, iOS, and Android, and offers an API. Native mobile apps add syncing, alerts, biometric authentication, and report downloads; the API and its SDKs are aimed at developers integrating normalized crypto data into their own work.

Who it's for

Kryptos suits crypto holders who need tax reporting across multiple sources, especially when portfolio visibility and tax preparation belong in the same workflow. The free tier is a reasonable fit for up to 100 transactions per tax year; people with more activity should choose a paid cap that leaves room for their volume. Developers get a stated free API allowance, while businesses can consider its accounting and treasury features. It is a weaker fit for anyone who cannot estimate transaction volume or whose required sources are not supported.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad advertised integration coverage can reduce the friction of consolidating activity across exchanges, wallets, chains, and DeFi protocols.
Pro: Multiple import and export methods accommodate connected, manual, and file-based tax workflows.
Pro: Mobile apps and a developer API extend the product beyond a web-only tax tool.
Con: The free tax allowance stops at 100 transactions per tax year, so active users need a paid plan.
Con: Several annual tiers differ mainly by transaction ceiling, which makes volume estimation central to avoiding an ill-fitting plan.

Verdict

Kryptos is a strong fit for individuals and businesses that need broad crypto-source aggregation alongside tax reporting, with mobile, API, and accounting capabilities to cover different workflows. Its principal advantage is combining those jobs in one service; its principal drawback is that tax costs and plan fit hinge on annual transaction volume. Start with the free allowance if activity is low, and look elsewhere if your required sources or preferred pricing model do not match.
