| deployment | Kubeshark can be deployed with Helm in Kubernetes and supports self-hosted air-gapped operation on the Enterprise tier. | Metoro is installed with Helm and is available as Metoro Cloud, BYOC, or on-premises deployment. |
| Funding | The company About page shows funding logos for Zeev Ventures and Engineering Capital. | Crunchbase lists a Metoro pre-seed funding round, but the amount and date are hidden on the public page. |
| Support | The vendor says support is normally delivered through a dedicated Slack channel or by email at [email protected]. | The Scale plan includes support via Slack with Metoro engineers, while Enterprise includes 24/7 white-glove support and onboarding. |
| What it does | Kubeshark indexes Kubernetes cluster network traffic at the kernel with eBPF and makes it queryable using Kubernetes, network, and API semantics. | Metoro is an AI SRE and Kubernetes observability platform that collects logs, metrics, traces, profiles, Kubernetes events and deployment context with eBPF, then investigates incidents and can open fix pull requests. |

In their own words
Kubeshark
Kubeshark indexes Kubernetes cluster network traffic at the kernel level using eBPF and makes it searchable with Kubernetes, API, and network context. It can decrypt TLS and service-mesh mTLS traffic without keys, certificates, sidecars, or application changes. Users can capture retrospective traffic snapshots, filter them by time, nodes, workloads, and IPs, then export PCAP files. Its KFL query language combines Kubernetes identity, API context, and network attributes. Kubeshark also provides an identity-aware service map and performance indicators for pods, services, nodes, and namespaces. It supports more than 23 protocols, including HTTP, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and DNS. Cluster network data can be exposed through MCP to AI assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. Deployment uses Helm in Kubernetes, and self-hosted air-gapped operation is listed for Enterprise. The free Community plan supports up to 3 nodes or 60 pods and requires internet connectivity. Paid plans start at $30/mo.
Metoro Kubernetes Profiling
Metoro Kubernetes Profiling continuously profiles Kubernetes workloads with an eBPF sampler running at the kernel level. It creates interactive flame graphs that can be grouped by service, pod, or container and filtered by cluster, namespace, deployment, or Kubernetes label. Metoro lists Go, Python, C++, C, Rust, Node.js, and Java support, with host-level frames for other runtimes. Profiling does not require SDKs, code changes, language agents, restarts, or rebuilds, and can cover third-party containers and vendor workloads. Profiles connect to Metoro APM traces, logs, metrics, pod state, and deployment context. Installation uses Helm, with Cloud, BYOC, and on-premises deployment options. The free Hobby plan includes one cluster, one user, and two nodes with 28-day retention. Scale costs $20 USD per node per month, plus $0.20 per GB above 100GB per node. Enterprise pricing is contract-based and offers custom retention and SLAs. eBPF requires Linux kernel 4.18 or newer.
