In their own words
Kuvasz Uptime
Kuvasz Uptime is free, open-source, self-hosted monitoring software for uptime, SSL certificates, keywords, servers, and infrastructure checks. HTTP monitors support adjustable intervals, headers, keyword matching, expected status codes, and response-time checks. Other monitor types include SSL certificate, push, ICMP ping, TCP port, and DNS monitoring. You can create public or private brandable status pages and schedule maintenance windows manually, by recurring cron schedule, or as one-off events to pause affected checks. Notifications can use email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Apprise, Pushover, PagerDuty, or custom webhooks, configured per monitor. Metrics export to Prometheus or OTLP-compatible tools, and an official Home Assistant integration is available. Monitors can be managed through the Web UI, REST API, or YAML. Deployment uses Docker, Docker Compose, or an official Helm chart and requires PostgreSQL; PostgreSQL 14 is the minimum tested version listed. The Free plan costs nothing, with the monitor limit not stated.
openstatus
Openstatus is an open-source platform for uptime monitoring and status pages. It checks websites, APIs, and services from 28 regions across multiple cloud providers. Automation options include a CLI, typed API with OpenAPI, Node SDK, MCP server, and Terraform management. Status pages can support custom domains, themes, subscribers, locale switching, and maintenance status, depending on the plan. The free Hobby plan includes one monitor, one status page, three components, and checks no more often than every 10 minutes. Starter costs $30 a month, or $300/year ($25/mo) when billed annually, with 20 monitors, one-minute checks, a custom domain, and subscribers. The platform is available on web and can be self-hosted with Docker under the AGPL-3.0 license. Paid plans include selected notifications such as Slack, email, webhook, WhatsApp, PagerDuty, and OpsGenie. Openstatus was founded in 2023 and is built by a self-funded two-person team.
