In their own words
L7|ESP
L7|ESP brings research, development, manufacturing and quality workflows into one platform for scientific data contextualization. Its Research package combines the platform, L7 LIMS and L7 Notebooks for experiments involving compounds, molecules or tests. L7|MASTER is a low-code tool for defining reusable scientific data and process models, while L7|HUB stores and governs workflows, models and instrument connectors for FAIR data practices. Connector areas include sequencing, PCR, label printing, quantification, automated nucleic acid extraction, imaging and liquid handling, with examples such as Illumina, Oxford Nanopore and PacBio Sequel IIe. Analytics can surface in Snowflake, Tableau and Power BI. L7|SYNAPSE supports protocol assembly, deviation suggestions and anomaly identification, with compliance-threshold actions validated before execution. The platform is designed for GxP operations with audit trails and traceability, and can run on public or private cloud or on-premise. Pricing is on request; L7|EXCHANGE is estimated for 2027.
Sapio Sciences
Sapio Sciences combines a LIMS, electronic lab notebook, and Scientific Data Cloud in a research lab platform. It is designed for laboratories of all sizes working across areas such as PCR, genomics, proteomics, protein engineering, medicinal chemistry, and sequencing. No-code workflow builders let teams configure, chain, automate, and track processes across instruments. Sapio Elain provides a prompt-based assistant for searching, planning and designing experiments, building and executing them, analyzing data, and optimizing workflows. The platform can bring in instrument data without code and includes charting, visualization, and science-aware search. Research LIMS, ELN, and Scientific Data Cloud are cloud-based and accessed through a modern browser; Sapio LIMS also has cloud or on-premise deployment options. Instrument connections can use a Rules Engine, File Bridge, or RESTful API. Scientific Data Cloud supports more than 200 instruments through file sweep and has an API for additional instruments. Sapio lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 credentials and says its LIMS is ready for GLP, GCP, and GMP compliance. The free Academic Bronze plan is free and requires an email associated with an academic institution; non-academic users must request more details.
