| Data residency | Cloud data is hosted in GCP US or EU regions, while self-hosted data remains in the customer's VPC. | Production deployments can be configured for EU-region processing, with EU-only storage confirmed in the contract during onboarding. |
| Integrations | Documented integrations cover OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Gemini, Mistral, LiteLLM, OpenTelemetry, CrewAI, Vercel AI SDK, PydanticAI, AutoGen and many other frameworks and providers. | The documentation lists integrations for LangChain, Claude Code, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, and Gemini SDK. |
| Support | The Developer plan includes community support, and the Enterprise plan lists a support SLA. | Product support for accounts, activation emails, integrations, and the hosted platform is available at [email protected]. |
| Tracing | Tracing records agent conversations and runs step by step, including prompts, model calls, tools, errors, latency and token usage. | Its SDK captures agent runs, sessions, tool calls, prompts, and errors from Python and TypeScript. |
| What it does | LangSmith is LangChain's framework-agnostic platform for observing, evaluating and deploying AI agents. | Traccia describes itself as an AI agent control plane for observability, evaluation, governance, and runtime policy enforcement. |

In their own words
LangSmith
LangSmith is a commercial agent-engineering platform for building, evaluating, deploying, monitoring, and improving AI agents. It supports offline evaluations on curated datasets and real-time scoring of production interactions. Evaluation methods include human review, heuristic checks, LLM-as-judge evaluators, pairwise comparisons, and custom Python or TypeScript evaluators. Annotation queues route runs to subject-matter experts for feedback that can calibrate evaluations, improve prompts, or augment datasets. The Playground compares prompt versions or model providers, and LangSmith chat can auto-improve prompts. Observability includes agent and retrieval tracing, token and general cost tracking, trajectory monitoring, online evaluations, and webhook or PagerDuty alerts. Traces can arrive through SDKs or an API from LangGraph, custom Python, or other stacks; SDKs are listed for Python, TypeScript, Go, and Java. Hosting ranges from cloud to hybrid and self-hosted Enterprise options. The Developer plan costs nothing, Plus costs $39 a month, and Enterprise pricing is custom.
Traccia
Traccia is an AI agent control plane for observing activity, evaluating outputs, setting governance controls, and enforcing runtime policies. Its Python and TypeScript SDK captures agent runs, sessions, tool calls, prompts, and errors. Spend limits, model allowlists, and loop caps can stop calls, while detective rules record issues after a run. Evaluation tools use prompts, datasets, scorers, and experiments to assess outputs before promotion.
The documentation lists integrations for LangChain, Claude Code, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, and Gemini SDK. Traccia says it works with any LLM, with automatic token and cost tracking for OpenAI and Anthropic and OpenTelemetry tracing for HTTP-based providers. Its open-source SDK can export traces to compatible backends without an account. Optional pattern-based PII masking can run before spans leave a user's process; ML-based detection is planned. The free Hobby plan includes 50K events and seven days of retention. Paid plans start at $99/month. Traccia says SOC 2 Type II certification is in progress and that it does not offer a signed Business Associate Agreement.
