In their own words
Laravel Vapor
Laravel Vapor is a serverless deployment platform for Laravel, powered by AWS Lambda. It supplies auto-scaling web and queue infrastructure and supports zero-downtime deployments and rollbacks. Vapor manages environment variables and secrets, as well as databases, Redis caches, SQS queues, networks, and CloudFront CDN. Application, database, and cache metrics are available, with alerts when performance is poor. Teams can manage custom domains and DNS, while Vapor handles certificate issuance and renewal. Documentation describes Slack notifications and Sentry integration, and teams can invite collaborators with permissions that restrict actions such as deleting databases or caches. Vapor uses CI/CD deployment and lists queue workers, managed databases, and staging environments. Applications must be compatible with PHP 7.3+ and Laravel 6.0+, and projects or resources require an active linked AWS account. Sandbox allows one project and 10 deployments, but excludes API Gateway versions, load balancers, firewalls, and custom domains. Unlimited Monthly costs $39 a month; AWS cloud costs are not included.
Symfony MakerBundle
Symfony MakerBundle generates PHP code for Symfony projects through commands in the `make:` namespace. It can create commands, controllers, form classes, tests, and other code to reduce boilerplate. The bundle requires no configuration by default, though its settings can be overridden, and generated PHP files are formatted with php-cs-fixer. The `make:entity` command requires `doctrine/orm` to be installed and configured; it supports ORM but not ODM. Developers can add commands by extending `AbstractMaker` and registering the class as a `maker.command` service. Generated code generally cannot be modified, so the documentation recommends creating a custom maker when changes are needed. Symfony source code is released under the MIT license. The bundle is installed with Composer as a development dependency and costs nothing. Symfony directs users to report security issues privately; for confirmed vulnerabilities, its core team prepares a patch, obtains a CVE identifier, and publishes an announcement. The documentation directs extension-point requests to an issue.
