Overview

Leapsome pairs an HRIS for employee records, onboarding, documents, absence management, time tracking and payroll preparation with a Talent Suite for reviews, goals, engagement surveys, learning and compensation. That range can give People teams one operating base for administration and talent processes. The modular prices make individual capabilities easier to evaluate, though a company adopting several modules should weigh the combined per-employee cost.

Founded in Berlin in 2016, Leapsome is headquartered in Berlin and New York City. Its AI agents assist with absence, performance and payroll preparation, while people retain final decisions. The platform connects with more than 100 tools, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, DATEV, Greenhouse and ADP, and supports custom API and SFTP integrations. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification, encryption, and stated GDPR and EU AI Act compliance are relevant for employers handling sensitive employee data.

Key features

HR operations and talent

Leapsome covers administrative work alongside performance reviews, goals, surveys, learning and compensation. Its support for periodic review cycles, calibration, competency frameworks, goal alignment and one-on-ones gives teams a broad set of talent processes rather than a narrow review tool. Buyers wanting only one or two of these capabilities can select modules; teams seeking a single system spanning core HR and talent are the better fit.

Integrations, AI and access

The 100-plus connections and custom API and SFTP options should help organizations fit Leapsome into an existing software stack. Its agents are targeted assistants, not substitutes for HR judgment: they handle selected absence, performance and payroll-preparation tasks, with people making final decisions. The platform supports web, iOS, Android and API access, but Leapsome has no mobile app; users can add a home-screen shortcut on iOS or Android. That compromise is less suitable for teams expecting a dedicated phone app.

Leapsome includes 38 languages, support and Leapsome Academy. Those inclusions matter for organizations with multilingual teams, though the listed platform capabilities do not remove the need to decide which paid modules fit the workforce.

Pricing

Leapsome is paid, with custom pricing for the overall platform and a 14-day trial as its no-cost evaluation option; there is no free plan. Published module prices are billed per employee per month: Compensation is 3.00 EUR and includes compensation reviews, budget management, pay gap analytics, and salary and bonus bands. Compensation benchmarks is 3.00 EUR, with market data by role and location, band recommendations and data refreshed twice a year. Time Tracking is 3.00 EUR for tracking, schedules, timesheets and customizable policies.

Engagement Surveys costs 4.00 EUR for a question library, action plans, benchmarking and DEI analytics. Goals & OKRs is 4.00 EUR and adds individual, team and company OKRs, progress tracking, goal analytics and Jira integration. Learning is 4.00 EUR, covering personalized learning, onboarding, videos, quizzes and SCORM, AICC, xAPI and CMI5. These lower-priced modules suit buyers with a defined need; their per-employee charges can accumulate if a team wants several at once.

Recruiting (ATS) is 5.00 EUR and includes a candidate pipeline, AI screening, scorecards and a careers page. Performance Reviews costs 7.00 EUR for review questions, automations, cross-cycle analytics, calibration and external reviewers. Agentic HRIS Foundation is 7.00 EUR and has limited custom attributes, e-signatures, workflows and approvals, analytics and reporting; it is free with any Talent Suite module until Dec 31. That makes it a lower-cost route to HRIS basics for a Talent Suite customer, but the stated limits matter to teams needing broader configuration or reporting. Agentic HRIS Pro is 10.00 EUR and adds full custom attributes, unlimited workflows, approvals, analytics and e-signatures, advanced AI agents and advanced integrations. It is the stronger fit where those capacities are essential, at a higher per-employee rate.

Platforms

Leapsome supports web, iOS, Android and API. Mobile access is through the web experience and a home-screen shortcut rather than a dedicated app, which may be a drawback for employees who rely on app-based HR access.

Who it's for

Leapsome is designed for lean People teams and organizations with 20 to 2,000 employees. It is most persuasive for employers that want core HR administration alongside talent processes, can identify the modules they need, and value integrations and multilingual support. It is less suited to buyers requiring a free ongoing tier, a dedicated mobile app, or full HRIS capabilities at the Foundation tier.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad HR and talent coverage: employee administration, performance, goals, learning, engagement and compensation sit within one platform.
Flexible connections: more than 100 integrations plus custom API and SFTP support accommodate varied software stacks.
Selectable modules: teams can start with specific capabilities rather than commit to every talent feature.
Meaningful HRIS capacity choice: Foundation provides a lower-priced entry point, while Pro includes unlimited workflows, approvals, analytics and e-signatures.
Multilingual and security provisions: 38 languages, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certification, encryption, and stated GDPR and EU AI Act compliance support international and sensitive-data use cases.

Cons

No free plan: the 14-day trial is the only no-cost evaluation option, so continuing use requires a paid arrangement.
Module costs can stack: per-employee monthly charges across several capabilities may raise the total beyond the price of any one module.
Foundation is constrained: its custom attributes, e-signatures, workflows, approvals and reporting are limited compared with Pro.
No dedicated mobile app: a home-screen shortcut is available, but teams seeking native app access will need to accept a workaround.

Alternatives

Choose ClayHR if its Professional plan's 7.00 USD per month, billed per Employee / Month, for employee records, forms, PTO, timesheets, workflows and onboarding better matches a core HR focus. 15Five is worth considering for a performance-oriented option; its Kona Meeting Assistant is priced at 24.00 USD per year, billed annually per employee. Buyers seeking a talent-management product offered as enterprise software can consider Workday Talent Management, which directs buyers to Contact Sales for pricing.

Cegid Retail is a paid alternative with Android, iOS, web, Windows, API and self-hosted platforms. Waystones has a free plan, a free trial and a Startup option at no cost for up to 5 users. Eightfold Talent Intelligence is another paid option with Android, iOS, web and API platforms. C² Career Pathing Tool offers web access and pricing by demo request. TalentGuard has web and API access, a free plan and a free trial.

Verdict

Leapsome is a strong candidate for lean People teams at organizations with 20 to 2,000 employees that want HR operations and talent processes in one connected platform. Its modular breadth, integrations and higher-capacity Pro tier are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if a free plan, a dedicated mobile app or a simpler all-in price is central to the decision.
