Overview

Legito brings document automation, lifecycle management and electronic signing into a browser-based workspace. It suits teams that need repeatable legal documents and approval processes without coding, especially if they want to start with a free workspace. The main qualification is that documents must be PDFs to sign directly.

Interactive templates use inserted data to generate advanced documents, while customizable workflows and approvals help manage the next steps. Renewal tracking, audit trails and document timelines add oversight, including a record of who did what and when. Signatories can use a browser on any device without installing an app; BioSign also supports biometric signing of PDFs on tablets and smartphones.

Signed PDFs are encrypted using a verified third-party certificate. Integration options include no-code tools, APIs, webhooks and DocuSign, making Legito more than a standalone signature service. Other document formats are converted to PDF before signing, a practical constraint for teams that rely on signing original files in their native formats.

Legito spans Legal Document Automation Software, Contract Management Software and Document Template Management Software.

Key features

Document automation: Interactive templates and inserted data let teams automate advanced documents without coding. That is useful for recurring legal work, though the greatest benefit depends on having repeatable documents and processes.
Workflow and lifecycle tools: Customizable approvals, renewal tracking, revision history on Workspace and document timelines support control across a document’s lifecycle. Audit trails record actions and timing, useful when teams need a clear activity record.
Electronic signatures: Signing is built in, including in the free workspace. Only PDFs can be signed directly; other file types are converted. Browser access avoids an app install for signatories, and BioSign adds biometric PDF signing on mobile devices.
Connections and support: Legito supports API access, webhooks, no-code and off-the-shelf integrations, plus DocuSign. Support services include knowledge resources, courses, webinars, professional services and implementation partners.

Pricing

Legito uses a freemium model. The Free Plan is free and includes document lifecycle management, customizable workflows and approvals, and electronic signatures. A separate Free Workspace is described as free of charge forever; the paid Workspace plans include a 30-day free trial.

Starter costs 6.90 EUR per month, billed monthly, and Business costs 13.90 EUR per month, billed monthly. Starter’s stated allowance is five documents per month; Business raises that to 20. Those caps make the lower-cost options more suitable for modest document volumes than for teams processing documents at scale. Workspace has custom pricing and offers as many documents as needed, with customizable templates, revision history, external document recordkeeping, analytics and managerial reporting, API integration and permission settings. It is the more capable fit for teams needing administration and reporting, but costs more than a fixed-price entry plan.

Paid Workspace plans have a 30-day trial. Membership renews automatically, but users can cancel at any time at no extra cost. There is no stated refund policy.

Platforms

Legito is available on the web and through an API, and its deployment options include both cloud and on-premises. Signatories use a web browser on any device, while BioSign supports biometric PDF signing on tablets and smartphones. This browser-based access avoids requiring signatories to install an app, but direct signing remains limited to PDFs.

Who it's for

Legito is a strong fit for legal teams and organizations that create recurring documents, need approvals and renewal tracking, and want to automate templates without coding. The free workspace lowers the barrier to starting, while the paid Workspace plan’s unlimited document volume and administrative tools suit larger or more involved operations. It is less compelling for users who need to sign non-PDF files without conversion or whose needs are limited to occasional, standalone signatures.

Pros and cons

Pro: A useful free starting point. The free workspace includes lifecycle management, customizable approvals and electronic signatures, so teams can begin without a subscription.
Pro: Automation paired with oversight. Templates, workflows, renewal tracking and audit trails cover document creation and follow-through rather than signing alone.
Pro: Several integration routes. API, webhook, no-code and DocuSign support give teams options for connecting existing processes.
Con: PDF-only direct signing. Other document types must be converted, which adds friction when a workflow depends on signing the original file.
Con: Entry paid plans have monthly document caps. Starter allows five documents and Business 20, so higher-volume teams need to consider the custom-priced Workspace plan.
Con: Workspace pricing is custom. Teams that need its expanded document volume and management tools cannot compare it through a fixed monthly price.

Verdict

Choose Legito if your team needs to generate recurring legal documents, route approvals and track renewals in one workspace, with a free starting point and integration options as requirements grow. Look elsewhere if signing original non-PDF files is central to your process, or if a fixed price is essential for the fuller Workspace feature set.
