In their own words
LocationAPI
LocationAPI is a geolocation API that estimates connected-device locations from visible cellular towers and WiFi networks without GPS. Its calculations use cellular and WiFi data, datasets, and algorithms, and it describes coverage for IoT, M2M, and other connected devices worldwide. Requests use JSON POST to a regional endpoint. The documentation includes cURL, PHP, Python, and JavaScript examples, plus an interactive sandbox. Each request can include up to 7 cells and 15 WiFi objects. WiFi positioning is enabled only for eligible deployments based on region and intended use. Accuracy varies by source and location: the FAQ gives cell-based estimates around 450 metres in urban areas and 1500 metres in rural areas, and WiFi estimates around 25–50 metres in urban areas and 50–150 metres in rural areas. The Developer plan is free, has daily and monthly request limits, and is marked for no commercial use. Business offers flexible usage, with pricing priced on request and as low as $0.10 per device. The documentation recommends scoped access tokens, kept server-side and rotated regularly.
Maptive
Maptive turns spreadsheet data into interactive online maps without requiring GIS skills. It accepts Excel workbooks, CSV files, Google Sheets, pasted data, and drag-and-drop uploads. Users can create territories, map boundaries, select areas with a lasso, and build drive-time polygons or driving-radius maps. Route optimization supports up to 70 stops. Every paid plan includes more than 60 mapping and analysis tools, while CRM mapping supports Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, and Keap. The service includes US Census variables, Canadian census data, and UK postcode statistics. Maps can be shared by link, embedded in HTML, or exported as PNG or PDF files up to 5120×3200 pixels. Maptive runs in a browser, including on smartphones and tablets, and lists Android, iOS, Windows, and API availability. It is cloud-only and has no self-hosted version. A free plan and 10-day trial are listed. The 45 Day Pass costs $25,045, paid once; Pro costs $1,250,110 a year, and Team costs $2,500,220 a year.
