In their own words
Ludo.ai Sprite Generator
Ludo.ai Sprite Generator creates animated sprite sheets from a text prompt or uploaded image for game developers making custom assets. It supports twelve asset types, including sprites, VFX sprites, map tiles, UI assets, item icons, portraits, card art and logos. Motion can be directed with text, up to three drawn keyframes, a reference video or one of 641 presets across 34 categories. The generator offers more than 30 art styles and a pixel-art pipeline designed to preserve a consistent pixel grid during animation. Exports include transparent PNG sprite sheets, JSON atlas data, individual-frame ZIPs, GIFs and MP4 video. Engine-ready exports are described for Unity, Godot, GameMaker and Unreal; runtime targets also include Phaser, PixiJS, Cocos2d and RPG Maker MZ. Users can generate and attach matching sound effects. Ludo lists a CLI, MCP server, REST API and Unity plugin; API, MCP, CLI and Unity plugin access is available on Pro and Studio. The free trial includes 30 credits, estimated at about six to seven animations depending on workflow, but free sprite sheet downloads carry a Ludo watermark on each frame. Paid plans remove it, including from previously generated sheets.
SpriteBrew
SpriteBrew is a web tool for making pixel art characters and animated sprite sheets from text descriptions or uploaded artwork. Its maker describes 21 visual styles across five categories. Users can also upload their own pixel art to create frame-based actions such as walks, attacks, idles, and jumps. Character detection uses contours, so a sprite sheet does not need a grid layout. The editor includes a pencil, eraser, eyedropper, undo and redo, with editing up to 16× zoom. Exports include TexturePacker, Aseprite, GameMaker, RPG Maker, Godot, and raw frames; exported sheets are supported by Unity, Godot, GameMaker, and RPG Maker. Editing tools work without an account, but AI generation requires sign-up. Free accounts have lifetime caps of 10 Pro or 30 Fast generations. The free plan lists 5 starting tokens, daily login and streak tokens, and a newsletter signup bonus. Paid token plans start at $4.99, paid once. Users own generated sprites and may use them commercially. The privacy policy says generated images are not stored on SpriteBrew servers and user data is not used to train AI models.
