In their own words
Lumastery
Lumastery is a homeschool web app with lessons and adaptive practice in math and reading, plus on-screen science lessons. It is designed for families managing children at different ages and learning levels. Practice difficulty responds to a child's recent answers and can return to foundational skills. A skill is marked mastered at 85% across the last 10 attempts; spaced review revisits skills over time, except arithmetic-chain skills. The Family plan allows a choice of traditional or conceptual math instruction for each child. Listed curriculum includes 238 math lessons, 157 structured reading lessons, and 117 on-screen K–8 science lessons. Science is not lab work; literature has three pilot chapters, writing assignments are a parent-graded pilot, and world languages are not offered. The free plan is described as one child and one daily session. Family is listed at $19.99 a month or $199 per year, with up to four children and unlimited sessions, but checkout is not live and the plan cannot be bought or trialed. The public beta has ended, new registrations are closed, and the app is unavailable to families during its wind-down.
MATHia
MATHia is adaptive math software for middle- and high-school students, providing individual support, real-time feedback and assessments. It responds to student actions with skill-by-skill feedback and contextual hints, while a Progress Meter shows progress across multiple skills. Reports cover sessions, skills, student details, standards, APLSE and leadership information. LiveLab shows whether students are working or idle and can alert educators when learners need support or reach milestones. Listed courses include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and Integrated Math I–III, with RTI support. MATHia is intended for grades 6–8 and 9–12. It supports Windows, macOS, iPadOS, Android tablets and Chromebooks through a web browser. Phones and other small devices are not recommended, and pop-up blockers must be turned off to access the software. Access through Clever, including SAML/SSO and Instant Login, and ClassLink roster integration are documented. Pricing is available on request; no public price is listed.
