In their own words
M-Files
M-Files is a metadata-driven document management system that connects documents with the people, projects, and work they support. AI classification organizes information, while search, editing, version history, co-authoring, secure sharing, tasks, and workflow automation support document work. Integrations include Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SAP, and other CRM and ERP systems. Organizations can choose cloud or self-hosted deployment. M-Files Cloud runs on Microsoft Azure, and M-Files says it encrypts stored data with AES-256 and client-to-server communication. Listed certifications include ISO 9001:2015, SOC 2/AICPA, ISO/IEC 27001:2013, and ISO/IEC 27018:2014. Essentials costs $65 a month, billed monthly per seat; Enterprise pricing is by custom quote. A 30-day trial requires no card or installation and provides a basic vault, though not all integrations. Desktop software supports 64-bit Windows; macOS and Linux users access M-Files through the web. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android, alongside APIs and a UI extensibility framework.
Masa CMS
Masa CMS is an open-source enterprise content management system for personalized websites, intranets, and mobile applications. It supports headless publishing across online channels, with configurable content types and an editor offering WYSIWYG editing, drag-and-drop, markup integration, and interface customization. Approval chains can require specified user groups to review content in sequence before it goes live. APIs provide programmatic access to content and updates to workflows and content models; separate environments can isolate changes from production. The CMS can be deployed on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or on-premises infrastructure. Its open-source software is listed at free. Paid MASA Cloud includes AWS infrastructure and support such as consultancy, development, training, monitoring, and incident handling; community support is available through GitHub. Production installation requires ColdFusion 10+ or Lucee 4.5.1.000+ and a supported MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle database. Docker setup instructions cover Unix, Mac, and Windows. The maker describes privacy-law compliance as a fit for the CMS and GDPR support for MASA Cloud.
