MailHippo
MailHippo is a secure email messaging platform designed to protect patient data with HIPAA-compliant email. It works with a user's existing email address and provider, and MailHippo says users can begin sending and receiving encrypted messages without setup or configuration. SendSafe provides a personalized URL through which anyone can send an encrypted message to a MailHippo inbox, including people without a subscription. Messages use SSL/TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, while message bodies and attachments are protected with AES-256 encryption at rest; the key ring is also encrypted. Every plan includes a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, and message-access records include the authorized user, date, time, and records accessed. The API supports attachments, CC/BCC, HTML content, and inbound messages through a webhook. Basic costs $4.95 a month per user and Pro costs $7.95 a month per user; both are month-to-month. A 30-day trial is available, and there is no free plan. MailHippo was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Pompano Beach, Florida.
