Overview

Moxion is a browser-based AI GIF maker with tools to create, optimize, and convert GIFs, plus text- and image-to-video generation. It suits creators and marketers building short visual assets for several channels. Its varied creation and finishing tools are appealing, but the free tier’s shared daily generation is small and there is no native app.

You can start with a prompt, an image, or your own video, then compress, resize, crop, or convert a GIF to MP4. The all-browser workflow keeps creation and delivery in one place, though it will not suit anyone who needs downloadable desktop or mobile software.

Key features

Three GIF inputs: Text-to-GIF, Image-to-GIF, and Video-to-GIF cover the common ways to make a short asset. Image uploads accept JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10MB.
Finishing tools: Compression, resizing, cropping, and GIF-to-MP4 conversion help adapt outputs beyond the initial generation. Moxion supports use on Discord, social media, e-commerce, and ads.
Video generation: Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video default to 1080p, with no audio. That works for silent visual clips, not for a finished sound-led video.
Duration and quality: Pro GIF generation supports 4-to-15-second durations, and Moxion presents Free, Standard, and Pro quality tiers. The free generation is much more constrained: one shared, watermarked 2-second, 480p generation per day across GIF and Video.
Reusable campaign assets: Active subscriptions include Brand Kits, reusable workflows, one-click asset sets, and eligible GIF finishing and adapted exports at zero Credits. These tools favor ongoing multi-channel work over occasional one-off creation.
Credit safeguards: Purchased Credits never expire, while unused subscription Credits do not roll over. Reserved Credits are returned if AI generation fails, a useful protection against paying for unsuccessful outputs.
Security and language: Moxion says connections use TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3 in transit, and that it relies on third-party infrastructure, AI, storage, and payment providers, with logging and access controls varying by system and provider. The platform is available in eight languages.

Pricing

Moxion is freemium. The free plan is free and includes basic GIF tools, 150 gifted Credits for new accounts, one shared free AI generation per day, a watermarked 480p preview, and a watermarked result. It is enough to try the workflow, but the daily two-second output cap is restrictive for regular production. GIF and Video share one free Quick Preview each day, and that preview is watermarked. The free plan also has a 480p preview limit.

The trial provides one Pro access use within seven days. That is a brief way to sample Pro rather than a sustained trial period.

Starter Pack — 9.00 USD per month: 1,000 Credits, described as about 10 Standard GIFs at four seconds. Despite the monthly price, the Credits never expire. It suits someone who wants a small credit allotment without a subscription-style expiry on use.
Boost Pack — 9.00 USD per once: 1,000 Credits with no subscription, and Credits never expire. This is the simpler choice for an occasional user who wants a one-time purchase.
Creator Pack — 29.00 USD per once: 4,000 Credits, estimated at about 20 short 1080p videos or 40 Standard GIFs. No subscription is required and Credits never expire, making this more suitable for bursts of work than predictable monthly output.
Studio Pack — 79.00 USD per once: 12,000 Credits, about 60 short 1080p videos or 120 Standard GIFs. Like Creator, it has no subscription and purchased Credits never expire; the larger upfront spend makes sense only if that volume is useful.
Starter — 19.00 USD per month: 2,000 monthly Credits, about 10 short video clips or 20 Standard GIFs per month, Brand Kits, and no watermark during the subscription. Eligible GIF finishing and adapted exports cost zero Credits. This is the subscription fit for regular work that needs saved brand assets and polished channel variants.
Pro — 49.00 USD per month: 6,000 monthly Credits, about 30 short video clips or 60 Standard GIFs per month, Pro GIF access, Brand Kits, and no watermark during the subscription. Generation uses monthly Credits, so unused subscription Credits do not carry forward. It is for higher-volume users who need Pro GIF durations and quality access, not occasional makers.

The one-time packs preserve unused Credits indefinitely; monthly subscription Credits do not. That distinction matters more than the nominal price when generation needs vary month to month.

Platforms

Moxion runs entirely in a browser and has no native desktop or mobile app or download. Although the platform is associated with Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, creation and delivery happen in the browser. Choose it for a browser workflow, not an installable app.

Who it's for

Moxion is a good fit for creators, marketers, educators, and hobbyists who need short GIFs or silent video clips and value built-in conversion and resizing tools. Its subscription workflow features are most useful to people reusing assets across channels. It is less suitable for users who need frequent free generations, audio in generated video, or native apps.

Pros and cons

Pro: Text, image, and video inputs plus compression, resizing, cropping, and MP4 conversion support a complete short-GIF workflow.
Pro: One-time Credit packs never expire, so occasional users can pay for capacity without losing unused Credits to a monthly reset.
Pro: Active subscriptions include Brand Kits and eligible finishing and adapted exports at zero Credits, useful for repeat multi-channel work.
Con: The free AI allowance is one shared, watermarked 2-second, 480p generation a day, too limited for sustained experimentation.
Con: Subscription Credits expire at the end of their period, which penalizes inconsistent usage.
Con: Video generation has no audio, and browser-only delivery rules out native-app workflows.

Alternatives

AI GIF Makers is the broader category to browse if you want to compare more tools before settling on a workflow.

Imgflip GIF Maker is a free alternative with Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows platforms; its free plan specifies 160 video frames, up to 360x360 video dimensions, and a 24-second maximum video segment. Choose it when those stated frame and segment limits better match the job.
GifRun is a web-based freemium alternative with anonymous use up to 10 seconds and a free account tier up to 20 seconds and 600px, with a watermark. It may suit users prioritizing longer stated clips over Moxion’s free 2-second output.
GIPHY Create is a free option on Android, iOS, and web for readers who prefer a free cross-platform tool.
Kapwing has a free 720p plan with 10 credits and a four-minute export limit, and a Pro plan at 16.00 USD per month billed annually. It is worth considering when a four-minute export limit is more relevant than Moxion’s short-form focus.
GifCraft is free on Android, iOS, and web, with no account, watermark, or export limit; its AI generator allows a few images per hour. Pick it for a no-account workflow and unrestricted exports rather than Moxion’s daily watermarked generation.
Hagif combines web and API access with local single-file tools that need no account or watermark. Its Hagif Power Pass is 4.99 USD per month for one-time 24-hour access with no auto-renewal, a different fit for short, time-bounded use.
Rewind.ai AI GIF Generator offers a free 5,000 tokens per day, with paid tiers at 5.00 USD per month for 200,000 tokens and 19.00 USD per month for 1,000,000 tokens. Consider it when a token-based allowance is a better match for your usage.
Ezgif is a free web tool with no signup and a 200MB maximum upload size, suited to users who prioritize large uploads and free conversion.

Verdict

Choose Moxion if you want AI-assisted GIF creation, practical finishing tools, and reusable channel assets in a browser, especially for regular work that can use a monthly subscription. Its strongest distinction is the mix of flexible inputs and subscription-based asset workflows. Look elsewhere if you need a generous free allowance, audio in video generation, or an installable app.
