In their own words
MAMP
MAMP provides a local server environment for building, testing, and developing websites, including WordPress projects. It runs on macOS and Windows and includes Apache, Nginx, PHP, and MySQL. The free MAMP plan provides the local environment; MAMP PRO adds controls for creating any number of websites, each with individual server and PHP configurations. PRO can create a WordPress installation and database in one step, and reusable Blueprints can support repeat setups. Snapshots save and restore project states, including databases. For PHP development, MAMP PRO offers Laravel setup and built-in Composer support. It can transfer projects and databases between a local machine and a server, and migrate WordPress installations. Cloud Connect supports Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. PRO also includes an MCP server that lets Claude Desktop access local sites, files, databases, and WP-CLI commands. MAMP says projects can be tested on mobile devices with its MAMP Viewer app for iOS. The maker is MAMP GmbH, based in Wörth am Rhein, Germany.
