In their own words

ManageEngine Log360

ManageEngine Log360 is a unified SIEM for collecting security data, identifying suspicious activity, and coordinating threat response. It combines log management with Active Directory auditing, cloud security, and user behavior analytics. Log360 collects, parses, analyzes, stores, and searches log data, using more than 750 prebuilt parsers as well as a custom parser. Detection and user and entity behavior analytics help identify anomalies and insider threats, while SOAR workflows and playbooks can automate incident assignment, enrichment, investigations, and response. It monitors Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Salesforce, and provides compliance reporting for GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX, NIS2, and DORA. Integrations include prebuilt and custom connections, REST APIs, and APIs and SDKs. Tamper-proof logs and detailed audit trails support investigation and accountability. Deployment choices include on-premises editions for Windows and Linux and Log360 Cloud. An annual subscription is listed at $795 a year, with pricing varying by licensed components and quantities. A fully functional 30-day trial is available. The vendor describes Log360 as an enterprise SIEM for security operations centers, with use cases in financial services, healthcare, government, and education.

OpenSearch

OpenSearch is a free, community-driven, open-source suite for ingesting, searching, visualizing, and analyzing data. It includes a data store and search engine, OpenSearch Dashboards, and the Data Prepper server-side collector. Search functions include full-text and field queries, multi-index search, field boosting, score-based ranking, sorting, and aggregations. The project identifies search, observability, and security analytics as application areas, including log analysis, threat intelligence, and event correlation. Listed machine-learning and AI capabilities include vector search and anomaly detection. OpenSearch can be deployed on premises or in hybrid and multicloud environments. Its Apache License 2.0 permits use, modification, extension, embedding, monetization, and resale. It is compatible with Beats, Fluent Bit, and Fluentd for ingestion and processing. A read-only ODBC driver for Windows and macOS connects tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI to the SQL plugin. Dashboards provides visualizations and an interface for plugins including security, alerting, Index State Management, and SQL. The downloads page warns that minimal distributions lack security features and are intended for carefully controlled environments or embedding in another service.
