Markup Hero
Markup Hero creates annotated markups from screenshots, uploaded or pasted images and PDFs, blank canvases, or captures made with its Chrome extension. It runs on Mac, Windows, and Chrome, with scrolling capture, annotation tools, OCR, and cloud sharing. Markups can be exported as JPG, PNG, or PDF. The free Hero plan includes all product features, up to 25 markups, and 24 hours of editing for each free-plan markup. An account is required after five markups; the stated reasons are linking files to users and providing customer support. Super Hero offers unlimited markups, editing, and saving. Premium Monthly is $5 a month, while Premium Annual is $3 a month billed annually; those listings include unlimited markups and permanent editing history. Super Hero Monthly is $5 a month, and Super Hero Annual is $3 a month billed annually. Team and lifetime plans are also listed, with no prices specified.
PicPick
PicPick combines screen capture and recording with image editing, color picking, pixel measurement, and annotation tools in a Windows application. Capture options include full screens, active windows, scrolling windows, fixed or freehand regions, and multiple monitors, with hotkeys and auto-save. Recordings can cover a screen, window, or selected region, include system audio and microphone input, and be saved locally. The editor supports drawing, shapes, callouts, stamps, cropping, resizing, erasing, and retouching. Design tools include a color picker and palette, pixel ruler, magnifier, crosshair, protractor, and whiteboard. Images can be exported as PNG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, or PDF. Sharing destinations include cloud drives, FTP, email, social platforms, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The maker says the application runs locally, does not collect usage data, and does not require an internet connection to function. Home is for personal, non-commercial use and has manual updates and no technical support. Professional costs $3,630 a year and permits business use, with automatic updates and priority technical support. PicPick is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not planned.
