In their own words

Marvelous Designer

Marvelous Designer creates digital garments from editable 2D patterns, sewing, avatar arrangement, and 3D cloth simulation. It is aimed at CG and gaming users, including character artists and entertainment workflows. Version 2026.0 lists a Lacing Tool, 3D Pencil, Toon Shader, glTF and VRM support, and template-based rigging in beta. The LiveSync plugin transfers meshes, materials, skeletal animations, and geometry caches to and from Unreal Engine; USD simulation export is designed for Unreal Engine Chaos Cloth. The maker describes a library of 77 fabric types, with presets that change garment folds and flow in simulation. Listed export formats include FBX, OBJ, Alembic, USD, USDZ, MC, PC2, MDD, LXO, and PNG. Windows and Mac versions require an internet connection; Linux is available to Enterprise customers upon request. The Personal Monthly Subscription costs $39 a month, and the Student Subscription costs $8.25 a month for qualified students. There is no free plan, but a 14-day trial is offered. Basic use requires 16 GB of memory, with 32 GB recommended for smoother operation.
