In their own words
Marzipano
Marzipano is a free 360° media viewer for the modern web, with a browser tool that converts panoramas into exported web applications. The tool accepts sphere, or equirectangular, panoramas and cubeface panoramas in JPEG or TIFF format; equirectangular images require a 2:1 aspect ratio. Files are processed in the browser and are not uploaded to a server. Panorama names, initial views, and other settings can be edited before export, and the resulting JavaScript, HTML, and CSS can be customized. Tours can be deployed to any web hosting platform. The viewer uses WebGL on modern desktop and mobile browsers and devices, is optimized for 360° images of any size, and is 55KB when gzipped. Its JavaScript API and HTML/CSS interfaces support custom controls. A simple tour demo includes hotspots and autorotate. Developers can include a standalone JavaScript file or install a Node.js package with npm. The project is not an official Google product.
