Overview

MASV brings file delivery, API access and branded browser upload portals into one service. Teams can collect uploads through a portal and route contributor files to one or more destinations, a practical fit for production workflows with outside contributors. Interrupted transfers resume automatically from a checkpoint, reducing the risk of having to send a large file from the beginning.

Integrations include Amazon S3, Backblaze, Box, Dropbox, Frame.io, Google and IBM Cloud Object Storage. MASV says transfers use TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest. It states that it is SOC 2 Type II compliant, ISO 27001:2022 certified and TPN verified, and supports HIPAA-compliant transfers. SAML-based SSO, MFA, role-based permissions, password protection, download limits and expiry dates provide controls for managed delivery.

Key features

Contributor portals: Branded browser portals can route uploads to multiple destinations, making repeat intake simpler for teams coordinating outside contributors.
Transfer optimization: The desktop app supports Multiconnect channel bonding, Growing Files real-time uploads and transfer optimization for 10 Gbps+ connections. These capabilities are relevant to fast, media-heavy workflows, rather than a reason to choose MASV for routine small-file sharing.
Transfer tracking and access: Download tracking and API access suit teams that want visibility or automation. Password protection, download limits and expiry dates add control over shared deliveries.
Storage charges: Uploaded files are stored free for five days; storage after that costs $0.07 USD per GB per month. Teams that retain deliveries should budget for storage as well as transfer volume.

Pricing

MASV uses a freemium model, but its free monthly allowance is tied to a credit-card-required On-Demand plan. That plan includes 15 GB of transfer each month, has no contract, and charges $0.25 USD/GB beyond the allowance. There is no cap on how much can be sent, but the per-GB rate and separate post-five-day storage charge make high or prolonged usage variable rather than predictable.

Annual subscriptions are billed monthly with a 12-month commitment: 250 GB costs $58.00 USD per month, 500 GB costs $110.00 USD per month, 1 TB costs $215.00 USD per month, and 2 TB costs $410.00 USD per month. Each includes its stated monthly volume, with overages at a discounted rate; the listed rates are $0.23/GB, $0.22/GB, $0.21/GB and $0.20/GB, respectively. These tiers suit teams with steady transfer needs that can accept a year-long commitment in exchange for included volume and lower per-GB rates.

Pre-Buy Credits require one upfront payment: 5 TB costs $1229.00 USD per month, 10 TB costs $2355.00 USD per month, and 25 TB costs $5632.00 USD per month. The included volume suits buyers able to commit to a larger allowance upfront; it is less suitable for uncertain or occasional workloads. The Platform plan has custom pricing and is aimed at usage of 10 TB+ per month. Dedicated onboarding and support are available for enterprise accounts.

Platforms

MASV supports web, macOS, Windows and Linux, as well as API access. Its desktop app provides the transfer features aimed at high-throughput work, while browser portals give contributors a route to upload without relying on the desktop workflow.

Who it's for

MASV fits solo filmmakers and creators, post-production studios, broadcast networks and data-heavy industries such as geospatial work. Branded portals and destination routing are especially useful when a team gathers large files from multiple contributors. For occasional small transfers, or workloads that need a firm cost ceiling without careful volume and storage budgeting, its usage-based charges are a drawback.

Pros and cons

Pro: Checkpoint restart automatically resumes interrupted transfers, an important safeguard for large deliveries.
Pro: Branded portals route browser uploads to one or more destinations, supporting repeatable contributor intake.
Pro: Security controls and stated compliance credentials suit managed transfers where access and handling requirements matter.
Con: On-Demand requires a credit card and charges $0.25 USD/GB after 15 GB per month, so variable usage can raise costs.
Con: Storage is free for only five days before the $0.07 USD per GB per month charge applies.
Con: Subscription plans require a 12-month commitment, while pre-buy credits require an upfront payment.

Alternatives

For a different transfer model, SendSafely has a free plan with 50 MB per month and a Basic plan at $10.00 USD per month with 250 MB/month, control expiration and personal use; it is worth considering when those smaller allowances fit. CrushFTP is an alternative to consider when its perpetual-license Small Business plan, at $70.00 USD per month with $250 yearly maintenance renewal after the first year, is a better fit. Files.com offers a paid Starter plan at $199.00 USD per month with 10 Full Users, 50 System Users, two outbound connections and 1 TB monthly storage, which may suit buyers seeking those account and storage provisions.

FileZilla Client is a free alternative supporting FTP, FTPS and SFTP. Serv-U FTP Server, Progress MOVEit Transfer, SFTPPlus and TitanFile are other options to compare. Browse Secure File Transfer Software, File transfer services and File Sharing Software for more candidates.

Verdict

Choose MASV if your work depends on dependable delivery of large files, contributor portals and integrations across media or data workflows. Its resumable transfers and controls make a strong case for professional delivery, but transfer volume, storage time and contract terms all affect the bill. If usage is sporadic or storage needs extend beyond five days, compare costs and commitment terms before choosing it.
