mcskins.top vs The Skindex

mcskins.top is a free browser platform for discovering, creating, sharing, and customizing Minecraft skins. Its editor lets users change skins in the browser and download them for Minecraft. Listed tools include Image2Skin, Merge, Flip, Grab, Make Avatar, Skin2Totem, and a 64-to-32 conversion tool. The image converter accepts GIF, JPG, and PNG files, with 64×64 output for Java Minecraft and 128×128 for PE and Bedrock Edition. The avatar maker creates six images of 3D heads and bodies from a Minecraft username or uploaded skin, with a 200 kB maximum upload size. Skin to Totem generates a resource pack that replaces the standard Totem of Undying texture. Accounts allow users to save custom skins to a profile, comment, and message other creators. The site reports a collection of 89637+ skins and 200,000+ monthly users. It uses cookies, Google Analytics, and third-party ads, which may collect usage data and identifiers such as IP address and browser type. Uploaders must own skins or have permission to upload them; certain content is prohibited.

The Skindex is a community website where Minecraft fans share and explore custom skins, with a browser-based skin editor. The editor offers controls for the character body and overlays, but blank skins cannot be downloaded or uploaded. Users can download skins from their individual pages and save or revisit them through Wardrobe. Community options include liking, disliking, commenting on, following and blocking users or their content. The site explains how to upload downloaded skins to Minecraft on PC and Pocket Edition on mobile, and supports both Classic models with 4px arms and Slim models with 3px arms. Downloading does not require an account. People creating accounts must be at least 13, or at least 16 if they are in the EU/EEA or UK. The Skindex is free to use and states that it is not an official Minecraft product and has no endorsement or affiliation from Mojang Studios. It also says it uses Cloudflare for content delivery and security and may log IP addresses and limited technical information for security and moderation.
