In their own words
Media.io Background Remover
Media.io Background Remover is a web tool for removing or changing backgrounds in images of people, products, animals, and objects. After upload, its AI analyzes the image and removes the background; the result can be downloaded as a transparent PNG. The product describes handling detailed edges such as hair, fur, flames, and transparent or semi-transparent objects. Users can replace the background with a solid color, an image from Media.io’s library, or a custom photo. Ecommerce templates and aspect-ratio presets are offered for Amazon, eBay, and Shopify, alongside ID photo choices and official size presets for passports, visas, and ID photos in multiple countries. Batch processing and commercial use are listed. GIF images are not supported; the page suggests converting a still image to JPG or PNG first. Uploaded files and generated content are automatically deleted from Media.io servers within seven days, and files are not backed up. The listed starting price is 11.99 /mo. Media.io was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China.

Windows and Mac desktop versions add bulk processing and offline use, with no image-size or file-size limits listed on the upload page. The API can bring background removal into an app or website and accepts JPG or PNG images with output resolution up to 4 megapixels. Windows, Mac, and iOS versions are offered; desktop requirements are Windows 8 or later and Mac OS 10.14 or later.
