In their own words
Mela
Mela is a multi-site CMS for creating and managing websites from one dashboard. It is aimed at freelance developers, agencies, studios, and small business owners. A site can begin from a blueprint or a blank slate and is live and editable when created. Mela supports visual content modeling and front ends built against a typed, versioned contract.
Every site includes forms with a submissions inbox, cookieless analytics, redirects, SEO controls, media, localization, and role-based access. Optional add-ons include visual page building, an email designer, and an AI site generator. The Email Builder exports email-safe HTML, but it does not send emails or include contact lists, scheduling, or open- and click-tracking. Brevo, Mailchimp, and Resend form integrations are listed as $9/mo add-ons. Developers can use a Next.js theme framework with a versioned theme contract, while the MCP server works with Claude Code, Cursor, or another MCP client for content modeling, site imports, media uploads, and typed frontend scaffolding.
SlateHut
SlateHut turns a short business brief into editable, section-based website pages and combines hosting, forms, and CMS tools in one dashboard. Its AI generator starts pages from a brief, then a visual editor lets you point, click, and reorder sections without code. Theme controls cover fonts, colors, and spacing, while section and media libraries support reusable page elements and images. CMS collections handle blogs, case studies, and listings, including detail pages in the same editor. Contact and newsletter submissions are stored in the dashboard; paid plans include unlimited submissions. Hosting is included, and paid plans support custom domains with guided DNS and automatic HTTPS. REST API v1 and an MCP endpoint support clients including Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude, although free workspaces cannot create keys. The free plan includes one slatehut.com site, $0.25 monthly AI credits for one generation start, and 10 form submissions monthly. Manual editing remains available after AI limits.
