Overview

Smart Autocorrect fixes spelling, grammar, and structure as users type, while style suggestions and context correction extend its role beyond catching typos. Transform adds assistants for rewriting, structuring, and translation. The combination suits writers who want help both polishing and reshaping text, but the free plan’s daily quotas quickly constrain regular use.

Dynamic Snippets save customizable text and personalized content for insertion with keyboard shortcuts. They can reduce repetition for people who send recurring messages; writers with few standard responses have less reason to pay for that capability.

Key features

Correction and transformation

MerciApp Correct supports French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Portuguese. The five-language scope is useful for multilingual writing, but readers working in other languages should look elsewhere. Transform’s ready-made and customizable assistants cover rewriting, structuring, and translation; the free allowance of three rewrites per day makes it a sampler, not a dependable daily workflow. Assist removes the Transform usage limit.

Integrations and data handling

The browser extension works with services including Gmail, Slack, Facebook, WordPress, Salesforce, and HubSpot, and MerciApp also provides Word and Outlook extensions. The maker says texts are not used to train its AI, data is hosted in Europe, and it is GDPR compliant. Its pricing page says data is hosted in France, kept private, and not shared with third parties; stored data is anonymized and accessible to its in-house linguistics team.

Pricing

MerciApp is freemium, with a 30-day trial for Transform and Snippets on the Free plan.

Free: Free. It allows 600 words analyzed per day and three Transform rewrites per day. That can suit occasional writers, but the word and rewrite caps make sustained work difficult.
Assist: 12.00 EUR per month, starting at 12€/month; the annual plan is 144€/year per seat. It includes unlimited Transform usage, Dynamic Snippets, Smart Autocorrect, custom assistants, team tools, and analytics. This is the practical choice for regular users who need the core writing tools without daily Transform caps; the annual price is per seat, so teams should account for each user.
Enterprise: custom pricing, with a 20-seat minimum. It adds dedicated account management and personalized rollout, making it a team-scale option rather than a fit for individuals or small groups below the minimum.

Platforms

MerciApp supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, and browser extensions, though it does not offer a mobile app. The extension is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge; Safari, Opera, and Brave are incompatible. Windows support starts at Windows 10, and compatibility with some applications is partial, with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Slack, Teams Pro, and FrontApp prioritized.

The Outlook add-in works on Windows 10 and 11, macOS, and Office Online, and requires an Exchange or Microsoft 365 account connection. That requirement matters for users whose Outlook setup does not connect to one of those accounts.

Who it's for

MerciApp fits frequent writers who work in supported languages and move between email, collaboration, and office applications. Assist is the better fit when daily writing makes the free quotas a bottleneck; Enterprise is for organizations with at least 20 seats that want managed rollout. Occasional writers can try the free plan, while users needing broader language coverage or unsupported browsers should consider another tool.

Pros and cons

Pro: Real-time correction, style suggestions, and text transformation bring proofreading and rewriting together.
Pro: Customizable snippets and integrations across common work apps support repeatable writing workflows.
Pro: The maker says text is not used to train its AI and describes European hosting, French data hosting, and privacy protections.
Con: Free analysis stops at 600 words per day, with only three Transform rewrites, limiting routine use.
Con: Correction covers five languages, and Safari, Opera, and Brave are unsupported.
Con: Windows app compatibility is partial, while the Outlook add-in requires an Exchange or Microsoft 365 connection.
Con: Enterprise requires at least 20 seats, excluding smaller teams from that tier.

Alternatives

Compare grammar checkers if you want to consider a broader set of writing tools. Choose LanguageTool for a free plan capped at 2,000 characters per text field, or its Premium Monthly plan if a 150,000-character field allowance matters more than MerciApp’s daily word quota. Microsoft Editor is an alternative for readers who want its freemium offering and Microsoft 365 Personal at 9.99 USD per month. Sapling may suit users who want its free plan’s 20 snippets and AI-detector allowances. Duden-Mentor is another freemium option, with a free tier allowing 500 characters without an account. iGrammar offers a free plan with 10 corrections and tools including grammar checks, summarizing, and paraphrasing. Grammarly is worth considering for its free plan and its Pro tier at 12.00 USD per month with 2,000 AI prompts per member each month. Ginger offers a Premium Monthly plan at 13.00 USD per month with unlimited enhanced Rephrase. Trinka is another freemium alternative.

Verdict

Choose MerciApp if you write regularly in one of its five supported languages and want corrections, transformations, and reusable snippets embedded in work apps. Assist is the strongest fit for that workflow because it removes Transform’s daily limit. Look elsewhere if the free quotas are too tight, your browser or language is unsupported, or you need Windows compatibility across a wider range of applications.
