In their own words
MeshHold
MeshHold is a decentralized private cloud and mesh network that runs as a single Go binary, with self-hosted deployment and data kept on user-owned hardware. Its distributed storage replicates files, keeps versions, supports lazy deletion, and exposes an S3-compatible API. The mesh provides multi-hop routing, system VPN access, and forward or reverse TCP and UDP tunnels. People on different nodes can co-edit OpenDocument text files and spreadsheets, including across a local network without internet access. Integrations described by the maker include Nextcloud, Immich, Mastodon, and PeerTube, plus federated sharing with Nextcloud and ownCloud through Open Cloud Mesh. MeshHold can provide remote access to Claude Code, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI, with per-instance state and MCP approval. The maker describes three encryption layers, service-specific content keys, and forward secrecy for Noise handshakes. Community Edition costs nothing, with no artificial limits on nodes, users, vaults, or replication factor. It runs on Android, Linux, Windows, and the web, with API and self-hosted options.
