In their own words

MessageWatcher Social Media Compliance

MessageWatcher Social Media Compliance captures social posts, comments, and other activity for compliance archiving and monitoring. It continuously tracks interactions to flag potential compliance risks, and archived material can be searched, reviewed, and exported for audits, investigations, or legal requests. Available records depend on the social platform and configuration; they may include posts, replies, direct messages, reactions, shared media, profile activity, timestamps, and metadata. Some integrations may retain edits or deleted content when that information is provided. Role-based permissions help separate access for compliance teams, reviewers, and administrators. Authentication controls protect access, while user activity and changes are recorded. Reports provide activity logs for compliance reviews and internal oversight. Listed networks are LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube; WhatsApp may be available subject to integration availability. Retention is configurable, and legal hold and advanced search are listed. The product is web-based, and MessageWatcher says it completed a SOC 2 Type II examination by an independent licensed CPA firm. Social media archiving is priced per account or in monthly bundles; X/Twitter is a separate service.

It offers web, mobile, Chrome extension and Obsidian clients, including standalone iOS and Android apps. Archives can include rich metadata, images or videos where supported, and Markdown output in Obsidian. Organization tools include profile crawling, scheduled subscriptions, a searchable timeline, tags, places and collections. Its guide covers 21 platforms and sources, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Threads, podcasts, Substack and RSS blogs; available functions differ by source. Saved posts, notes and media are primarily stored on-device. Enabling sync or web sharing can send related content and metadata to Social Archiver's servers.
