In their own words
Meteroid
Meteroid is a monetization platform for SaaS, infrastructure, and AI companies. It combines subscription management, usage-based pricing, quote-to-cash, invoicing, and business intelligence in one service. Billing can use flat subscriptions with overages, tiered or volume rates, multidimensional pricing, capacity commitments, and packages. The platform includes quotes and CPQ, credit notes, checkout, entitlements, webhooks, APIs, and a customer portal. Customers can view usage, manage subscriptions, change payment and billing details, and retrieve invoices through that portal, which can be embedded in a product. Meteroid says its Rust-based metering system uses ClickHouse and Kafka for real-time event ingestion and idempotent requests that count each event once. Invoicing supports an EU VAT engine or customer-specific tax rules. The AGPL v3 open-source edition can be self-hosted with Docker Compose or Helm Charts. Platforms listed are API, self-hosted, and web.
Subscribie
Subscribie lets businesses, clubs, and service providers create subscription websites and collect recurring payments online without coding. Shops can offer weekly, monthly, or yearly payments, as well as one-off upfront charges, all handled through Stripe. A shop can be embedded in an existing website and also gets a free Subscribie web address. Owners can publish subscriber-only files and private pages, pause or cancel subscriptions, set cancellation dates, and refund individual transactions. The service can automatically charge VAT and generate invoices that show VAT. Listed integrations include Stripe payments, Google Analytics, and the Tawk live chat widget. The maker describes Subscribie as open-source software that users with the skills can host themselves, as well as a web service. A free plan covers subscription plan creation, sign-up page setup, and test payments. Business Plan costs £27.99 a month plus 1.25% of sales and Stripe fees. Yearly 25% off costs £251.90 a year plus the same charges. The maker says support is available online and by email during support hours.
