UniKiosk
UniKiosk turns Android tablets, sticks, and TV boxes into digital signs, with kiosk lockdown and a web admin panel. Boards can draw on RSS feeds, calendar URLs, weather lookups, and web pages shown in a frame. Content, schedules, and the console run on the device, so the software is described as working without internet access. The layout designer uses a proportional grid, supports draft edits and publishing, and retains the last twenty published versions. The maker lists 451 downloadable templates across 44 industries, in landscape, portrait, square, and right-to-left layouts. The free plan is free and includes unlimited screens, all 26 widgets, full kiosk lockdown, the on-device admin console, and the templates. The APK requires Android 9.0 or later and is sideloaded from the maker’s website. The local admin console uses plain HTTP on port 8080; the maker advises changing its default password and not forwarding that port. UniKiosk has no account system, telemetry, or analytics, and keeps app data in device storage.
