In their own words
Middleware
Middleware is a hybrid observability platform for detecting and resolving issues across infrastructure, application performance, and real-user monitoring. Its listed coverage includes infrastructure monitoring, logs, metrics, distributed tracing, database monitoring, synthetic monitoring, browser testing, and LLM observability. The AI SRE Agent and OpsAI capabilities include root cause analysis, automatic issue detection, faster issue solving, and automatic PR generation. The Free Forever plan costs nothing and includes up to 100GB of data, 1k RUM sessions, 20k synthetic checks, 10 browser test runs, and 2 million OpsAI tokens, with 14-day retention and community support. Pay As You Go costs $0.30 a month, billed according to use, with default 30-day retention. Middleware lists 450+ integrations and a Public API. It runs on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, Windows, and API. The company says it encrypts customer data in transit and at rest using TLS 1.2+ and AES-256.
Odigos
Odigos is self-hosted software for recording live runtime activity inside services, so engineers, AI agents and security teams can investigate production behavior without changing application code. It can collect traces, metrics, logs, profiles and function values, including evidence that would otherwise require an instrumentation release or redeployment. Odigos uses out-of-process eBPF capture; the company states it uses under 1% CPU and adds effectively zero latency. Access controls govern who can request captures, which workloads they cover and what can be collected. PII masking, attribute deletion and sampling can shape captured values in the cluster before export. Data is sent as OpenTelemetry to configured destinations, and Odigos can run alongside tools including Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb, Grafana Cloud, Jaeger, Tempo, Loki and SigNoz. The listed supported languages are Go, Java, Python,.NET, JavaScript, PHP and Ruby. Deployment options include Kubernetes, VMs and bare metal. Odigos also supports function-level virtual patching to block matching application calls before a code release. The open-source plan costs nothing and includes community support. Enterprise has custom pricing and a 14-day free trial; it lists multi-cluster administration and 24/7 premium support. Oracle database tracing is marked “Coming Soon” on the plan comparison.
