Midjourney vs Recraft

Midjourney provides image generation from text prompts and can also use reference images. Its web Editor includes Remix, inpainting, Pan, and Zoom Out, and the service can turn a single image into a five-second video with optional text prompting. A subscription enables image creation on both the Midjourney website and Discord, though their features differ. The listed platforms are web, iOS, and Android; the limited trial is available through the niji · journey app on iOS and Android, not on the website or Discord. Images are output as PNG, and commercial use is included subject to a stated limit: companies with more than $1,000,000 USD in annual gross revenue must use Pro or Mega under the commercial terms. Creations are open by default and may appear on the Explore page. Stealth Mode is limited to Pro and Mega, and Discord creations shared in a channel remain visible to its members. Midjourney generally does not provide an API or third-party apps and prohibits automated interactions, except for rare explicitly granted exceptions.

Recraft provides text-to-image generation, reference image support and image editing, with output in SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF, TIFF and Lottie formats. API access is available, and API is the listed platform. Its free plan includes 30 daily credits. Monthly AI credits are listed as 1,000 credits per month, alongside the plan-specific credit amounts. Commercial use is limited. Recraft was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in London, United Kingdom. The free plan offers a way to use the product without a listed subscription price, while the named tiers specify progressively larger credit totals. The combination of image generation, editing, references and multiple export formats may be relevant to people creating or modifying visual assets, including those who need vector and raster outputs.
