Overview

Shiken connects meeting recordings and other source material to content creation and learning workflows. That breadth can suit teams that want practice, coaching, and course delivery alongside their workplace tools; it is less focused than a product chosen solely for meeting capture or a single training task.

Key features

Meetings can be recorded with or without a bot, and Shiken can also ingest documents, PDFs, YouTube links, and web links. It turns source material into summary notes, AI roleplays, proposals, slide decks, courses, and quiz questions. This gives teams several ways to reuse conversations and existing materials, though users on Free will quickly encounter the monthly caps on AI generation.

Roleplays use lifelike characters, rubric-based scoring, and more than 40 languages. AI call analysis, coaching scorecards, development plans, and manager dashboards make Shiken more relevant to structured sales or leadership coaching than to casual practice alone.

It connects to more than 3,200 apps, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, and Microsoft Teams; a public API and webhooks support custom connections. For formal learning workflows, Shiken supports LTI 1.3, SCORM export, and xAPI completion reporting. It states that it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and that it does not train third-party models on identifiable customer content or learner data. Enterprise controls include SSO/SAML, SCIM provisioning, role-based access, and regional data residency options.

Pricing

Free costs 0.00 GBP per free and remains free forever, with no credit card or time limit. It includes unlimited recording and transcription, a 30-day history, five AI summaries per month, 10 roleplay turns, 10 AI chats, and five AI notes. The recording allowance is unusually open-ended for a free plan, but its AI quotas make it better for occasional use than sustained content production or coaching.

Solo Creator costs 99.00 GBP per month with annual billing and allows 500 enrolled learners. It is the paid option for an individual creator who needs that enrollment capacity; the annual billing term is a meaningful commitment. Creator Team costs 299.00 GBP per month with annual billing and includes two admins, five communities, and 2,500 learners. Extra admins cost separately, so teams should account for that if more than two people need administrative access.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes SSO/SAML, SCORM, a dedicated customer success manager, advanced analytics, and enterprise security controls. It is the fit for organizations that need those controls and support rather than a published fixed price. The creator trial lasts seven days, requires a work email and card on file, and limits trial accounts to five enrolled learners with no public payout; that is a narrow test for creators who need to validate a larger cohort or payment workflow.

Platforms

Shiken is available through its online platform and has native iOS and Android apps. It also offers an API, making it suitable for teams that need programmatic connections as well as app access.

Who it's for

Individual learners can use the learning and practice features, while creators and coaches can build courses and roleplays for enrolled learners. Sales, leadership, and L&D teams have the strongest case when they want coaching, meeting-derived materials, integrations, and LMS connections in the same workflow. A buyer looking only for a dedicated recorder or lightweight study tool may find the broader platform unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited free recording and transcription leave room for regular meeting capture without a recording quota.
Pros: Meeting capture, AI-generated learning content, coaching tools, and LMS compatibility can support a connected training workflow.
Pros: More than 3,200 app connections, API access, and webhooks provide options for fitting Shiken into existing business systems.
Cons: Free AI quotas are modest, particularly for frequent summaries, roleplay, and note generation.
Cons: Paid creator plans use annual billing, and extra Creator Team admins incur separate charges.
Cons: The seven-day creator trial requires a card and work email, caps enrollment at five, and does not allow public payout.

Alternatives

For sales coaching, Sales Coaching Software and SalesRoleplay are relevant places to compare focused options; SalesRoleplay has a free plan with 10 AI roleplay sessions per month and three pre-built personas. Outdoo AI offers a free roleplay allowance of up to 60 minutes total per account. Choose Convin if a single manual QA platform and call-auditing workflow is the priority. Exec has a free plan with up to three basic seats, two courses, five programs, and five roleplay sessions per user per year. Hyperbound offers 45 prebuilt AI roleplays and example scorecards on its free plan. Mindtickle is a paid option without a free plan, with a Readiness tier that includes training, virtual roleplays, coaching, and analytics but no two-way AI Role Play. SalePlay has a free plan with five minutes, 20 personalized prospects, and mock CRM features. For deal intelligence, Steerio offers a 14-day Starter trial with deal diagnosis and coaching questions. For study-focused choices, see AI Study Tools.

Verdict

Shiken is best for creators, coaches, and business teams that want meeting capture, structured AI practice, content creation, and learning delivery connected in one system. Its breadth and open-ended free recording are persuasive reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if generous AI use on a free tier, a short low-friction creator trial, or a narrowly focused tool matters more than having those workflows together.
