In their own words
Moodis
Moodis is a visual mood board tool for artists who collect, arrange and refine creative references. Its infinite canvas lets users pan and zoom, place images freely or snap them to a grid, and resize, rotate and layer them. Keyboard shortcuts support editing, and users can create unlimited boards, move between them and export a board as PNG or JPEG. The desktop app works offline and stores boards and images on the user's machine; cloud sync is optional. Pro adds web access, cloud sync and shareable board links, while Team adds real-time collaborative editing. Free is €0/forever for personal, non-commercial use. Pro costs €5/mo and includes 99 GB cloud storage; Team costs €50/mo and includes three users and 999 GB storage. Cloud-account images are encrypted at rest and stored in the European Union. Moodis is in beta, and features may change. Downloads are available for Windows 10 or later and Linux x86_64; macOS is listed as coming soon.
PureRef
PureRef is a standalone reference image organizer for collecting inspiration, arranging mood boards, and keeping visual references nearby while painting or doing 3D modeling. Images can be added from a computer, pasted, or dragged from a browser. Tools include quick notes, desaturation, and ways to arrange and align images; the pen tool supports freehand marks and shapes, and animated GIF playback controls are documented. PureRef can stay above or below other windows, appear as an overlay, or allow mouse clicks to pass through to the application beneath it. Supported formats include AVIF, GIF, HEIC, JPEG, PNG, PSD, SVG, TIFF, WEBP, and EXR. Image files and related image data are stored locally rather than online. The Personal plan is free for personal use. Commercial use with version 2.0 and later requires a per-seat license. Business options include an $8 a year annual subscription, a $10 a month subscription, and a $49 as a one-time purchase small-business license capped at three users per studio. PureRef is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
